Arguably the most disliked person on Lemmy, because I defend free speech and civil rights, and I push back against Fascists, Nazis, and Lemmy Groupthink.

    That's correct. It happened to the world. Trump couldn't have prevented it. No one could have. And since it didn't happen BECAUSE of him, I'm not scared it's suddenly going to happen again just because he's in office.

    Would you be this afraid if Harris were in office? Because the odds of a pandemic are the same regardless of who is in office.

  • There is no upcoming apocalypse. That's just doomscrolling too much of Lemmy.

    BUT it's always good to have a good supply of everything for natural disasters, pandemics, etc.

    I am totally stocked and I wouldn't have to rely on any services for over a year. When the pandemic happenend, I didn't even flinch. I just went thru my stuff, and restocked when things got better.

    My land is paid for. I can garden. I have chickens. I have solar power. I am good with my hands. And plenty of timber for heating. Snows and rains a lot here.

    There will be no apocalypse just because you don't like the president. People said the same shit the first time he was prez. But being prepared for anything is awesome. :)

  • Because for all the big talk and anti-rich/anti-corporate talk that many Dem politicians preach--they aren't really willing to do anything other than talk about it in order to get votes.

    Republicans aren't out to help you. Democrats aren't either. And most of Lemmy is too busy playing PokemonGO, to actually do anything close to a revolution that would change anything. They'll talk about it, upvote it, but they won't actually do it. lol

    Meh, I am already retired and doesn't suck for me. Now for people who were just about to take out a big chunk and sell it all, yeah, the timing sucks.

    But unless you are planning on selling right now, all good. The market will come back. And most rich people are actually buying up stock right now and laughing at the panic sellers. This happens every single dip.

    Just because I say something divisive, doesn't mean I'm doing it on purpose. You do realize that some people just have different opinions than you, right? Hence the election results.

    My point being, not everything is a trick or troll statement. I believe what I said; in spite of you finding it divisive, not because it's divisive.

    For the record, my gf totally disagrees with me, and is making the really really silly mistake of panic selling. Even tho I showed her facts and historical context. She's making a huge mistake. And I'm sure I'll hear all about it when the market comes back up and I profit (small, but still profit).
