    Love the commitment to the bit. I was unsurprised to learn that the owner is a physicist and an injured runner meaning he has both the time and motivation to geek out on data and live vicariously.

    The beaver version is sure to be more natural than anything a human would manage, with less disruption. Another bonus is that the officials are now incentivised to protect the beavers as they're maintaining infrastructure.

  • I watched the source videos and in the second the prof says of the two people who contested the cheating charge, one managed to get her grade changed by claiming she used dark mode so saw the "hidden" white text. Smart argument, I wonder if he actually believed it.

    In an official response posted to the Backrooms movie Instagram account, A24 explained, "As Kane Parsons has made clear, Backrooms is one part of an infinitely bigger ecosystem, rife with creatives who have every right to tell their own version of the story. Yesterday we were made aware of an automated claim submitted to Redbubble on behalf of A24 and Backrooms movie. We immediately began the process to reverse it and reinstate the listing. A24 makes no claim of ownership over the yellow wallpaper, the original post referencing it, or any of the community works that have since been built around it. We will continue to support the artists who, like Kane, were inspired by it."

  • I'm not OP, but I use Caddy as a reverse proxy, which generates a wildcard TLS certificate with proof of domain ownership via their Cloudflare integration (who host my DNS). At some point I'll move off Cloudflare but I never intend to host my own DNS (or email).

    But here is the thing: this is a Volta GPU with 16GB of HBM2 memory, 5120 CUDA cores, and I picked it up for about £150 on eBay. The compute is still real. The VRAM is still real. And the memory bandwidth is where it gets genuinely surprising.

    I suspect he's used some AI polishing tool to turn his draft into a publishable post.
