  • Damn I didn't realise it was timed. Trying to do all that typing on mobile was a bit slow, I only got to 80 before running out of time, and still hadn't done Europe and only started on Africa.

    A bit rough they make you spell them all!

  • Sure. Any driving you do increases your risk of death. But it's likely you need to drive for other reasons that reduce your risk of death (like buying food).

    Drinking is different because no one needs to drink.

  • I work with someone whose job involves writing design documents. They have Copilot write it and then send it out for other people to review, and you can tell they haven't even read it themselves.

    Then in meetings they talk with confidence about things, you think it doesn't sound right and ask for a link to learn more, and they admit they just asked Copilot.

    Like I am not sure what this person does themselves because they seem to be farming out the entire core part of their job.

  • Yeah active. Sorry I wasn't clear, it was obvious why the army guys could beat me, they odd thing was that I could beat most everyone else.

  • When I was in university I could beat anyone in an arm wrestle except for the army guys, and it was never that clear to me why.

  • Ah right. Yeah we don't have a lot those, we have a hub and spoke system of commuter trains, with gaps filled with busses.

    Wellington is services by a couple of weekday trains from neighbouring cities, that are each approx 2 hours away (slow ones, travelling around 150km distance in that time). Of those trains, one only runs once a day and not at all on weekend, and the other is only like 4 a day and 2 on weekends. Intercity rail is not that good here. You can get Wellington<->Auckland (two biggest cities) but it's priced for tourists not commuters (goes pasts mountains etc). Plus is a whole day's travel, we don't have fast trains.

  • In Wellington, NZ is the busses and trains are often late, but they run every 5-20 mins and they have electronic boards telling you when they are estimated to arrive based on real time tracking, so it's not a big deal when you can just show up and one won't be far away.

  • The rendering of pages seems fine, it's the browser functions that seem missing. As an example, there is no "find in page". If you press Ctrl+F, nothing happens. Many things work, including their strange tab grouping system that I guess will be their selling point. But I kept coming across the missing little things.

  • I've been playing with it since I guess towards the start of this year. The latest update still doesn't make a browser I think is ready to call beta 🤷

    I'm keeping an eye on it, but only loosely.
