Fediverse is worse than Reddit. Mod abuse, admin abuse, disinformation, and people simping for literal terrorists.

  • I'd prefer Skynet if I'm gonna be honest.

  • With how often videos get removed or set to private? Yes.

  • They do bad faith trolling though.

  • It's going to be your legal issue when you break it, so go ahead.

  • Just stop destroying the www by supporting this toxic monopoly. How in the hell are all of those coping tweaks easier than just switching the freaking browser?! It's like Windows users claiming superiority when they have to have like 10 tools to tweak their operating system, with each year another new one being needed. At what point do you people realize how much you're getting duped and how you are part of the problem that makes this possible in the first place?

  • If the links aren't of help to you understanding, then I'm afraid I cannot help you.

  • I'm no coder.

  • I'll stick with mbin.

  • My country is easy to figure out and not really a secret and generally known for individual privacy laws. You can publicly record something, but only for as long as it does not violate the personal rights of someone - and yes, that still includes their privacy rights. The above example of directly recording or let alone profiling someone through "AI" is not legal without consent, and there's also further laws regarding AI surveillance within the entirety of the EU. The same goes for publicly sharing such recordings online. You generally have to blur people's faces and even license plates of public recordings. There's also laws regarding "hidden recordings", which I'd place this under since I could not tell if your glasses are recording me or not.

  • I do that as much as I can anyway, but even I have to go and buy groceries about once per week. And yes, I literally do get to tell you not to record me, because it is very much illegal to record people without their consent here. Cry about it if you want.

  • No, it is not. Keep your camera out of my face.

  • I guess we need those Cyberpunk 2077 holographic masks that the Scavs use to hide their faces.

  • Recording and even more so profiling people without their explicit consent is completely not okay.

  • Fewer barriers to entry? A forum is just a simple registration, usually with email confirmation and maybe a captcha once. Facebook wants real life personal information, blocks VPNs and nowadays I think you have to even provide phone numbers or a custom video of yourself. Discord, ON EVERY LOGIN, wants me to solve a 2 level captcha that loves to repeat itself multiple times and to do a two factor authentication while being just a bloated confusing mess of a chat. Reddit also now blocks VPNs like crazy and loves to shadowban you if you're inactive for a while (or whatever random reason they went with that I cannot think of).

They're the absolute worst possible choices and exclude countless of people.

  • Definitely not for me. The UI looks worse than Lemmy, which I already can't get behind.

  • The Boys, Fallout, Vox Machina, Invincible? Although most aren't directly produced by Amazon itself. The Expanse if we want to count the hosting and the fact that it still got cancelled.

  • Hard pass.

  • I guess even in my nihilistic mind is still too optimistic when it comes to people. I should just stop giving them the benefit of the doubt and just accept that almost everyone will argue in bad faith.
