  • I wonder how much of the gender divide just comes from social conditioning. Most women I know have been told from a young age to plan to grow their family and add people to a household, but most of the guys are expected to just exist until it's time and to then find a house big enough for (???) people. That being said, I think 2-Bed/2-Bath is the sweet spot for most people.

  • I think I'd rather kill myself than become a Republican, if I was forced to pick one tbh. My empathy for the common struggle of regular people working to simply live quiet lives is like a core part of what I am, I can't imagine myself without it. I'm not perfect by any means, and I've got some contradictions and biases, but like holy shit I don't know if you could cut that out of my brain without killing me in the process.

    My partner has gotten into car detailing and Luke's to clean our hats and shoes. He's happy with his hobbies.

    My entire existence is fighting entropy to help save people money when everything breaks, and my hobbies are camping, repairing old Coleman Lanterns and riding/maintaining a 41 year old motorcycle.

    Take a guess who feels fulfilled and accomplished with his hobbies more often?

    I enjoy my hobbies, honestly, but there's basically never a "done" state for this stuff, just "I can't afford the cost/time to do this lower priority thing right now, I'll revisit it when it starts making strange noises on the highway/actively combining fuel and fire".

  • The AZ/NM area was absolutely my favorite part of the past 3 years of round trips across the country (driving someone who medically can't fly). I'll never be a desert dweller, but the Sonora, Payson, and heading into Gallup and Albuquerque is just jaw dropping.
