  • Yes it is. So are the guns themselves. What my family experienced is that the larger 12 ga reduced the recoil a lot more than the smaller 20 ga gun. I suggest you shoot 2 mossbergs (one that's 20ga and then one that's 12ga) and see for yourself.

    Also of note is that there are greater ammo options for a 12ga.

    I'm not an expert however, I literally just got into guns a year ago after I asked myself what would Picard do, and I realized he would be armed.

  • This is not my experience. The 12ga shotguns control the recoil a lot more and although they weigh a bit more, are easier for smaller people to shoot.

    Ofcourse, if you are going to buy something you should try to rent it at a range and try it first. Only buy something you are comfortable with.
