  • "you owe me for giving birth to you and putting a roof over your head" is pretty far out, if you're raised like this I can assure you it would suit these parents a lot better to skip having kids.

    You owe it to the kid you decided to have to care for it as best you can, Not the other way around.

  • I think them having all this info about you, is a way to get advertisers to pay them more for the targeted ads.

    It's not to help you or the advertisers, but themselves.

    And I assume not a single advertiser has gone up to them with a well grounded: "bruh, dafuq are you doing showing fridge ads to the guy that just bought a fridge from us... that's not what we are paying you for."

  • I'm a crane operator, if we still got the wages people would get 15 years ago and all the required paperwork it would feel important.

    But now it's just a: "hey guy, go try it out...see how it goes" and if it goes well you get to stay...for the same wage and no official paperwork to prove you're capable and as such no opportunity to do the same at a new employer and maybe build up your wage.

    It's a bit if a run on ramble, but yeah... that's how I feel, after 30 years of trying to save money, increase my skills and wage, not owning a car to save on costs and doing everything on a bicycle up to 40km a day and still not being able to buy a house...I'm ready to throw in the towel

  • The average european has a good life, but the average person doesn't exist outside of statistics.

    I used to work 84h weeks as a European, overtime is taxed at a higher rate so the take home is lower than a regular working hour. But if you really want something out of life (like buying a house) you have to sacrifice everything if you're just a normal worker.

    Hell i sacrificed it all only to lose it to economic troubles and later again due to covid.

    I'm not doing that again even though all my employers try to get me to work overtime, some even fired me for refusing to work overtime past the contractual 3h per week.

    I somehow ended up making a decent wage at my current job, but i dislike the job so badly it's not even funny anymore.

  • Not just a women problem, my own jeans are 32. My workout pants are M, my work pants are size 50.

    Shoes should be standardized, i have pair of converse size 39 and a pair of nike jordan's (possibly fake, not sure got them as a gift from a friend) size 44. I'm usually a 42 or 42,5.

  • That worked very well for me, turns out my job was far too boring and offered no challenges.

    I made the mistake of not succesfully monetizing my workouts, because groceries got so expensive i had to stop my gym membership.

    Have been a vegetable ever since, zero motivation and energy to do shit.

  • This seems interesting, i'll read it fully after work if i don't forget.

    Something has me convinced i'm depressed but the only time i ever had the posibility to look for help they sort of just worked me towards the door and cut me off asap.

    But they ended up giving me some sort of anti psychotic medication, which definitely allowed me to get back on my feet at the time. (Shit was dark, i fell in a hole with covid, homelessness and unemployment alltogether with my wife and reached a point where i struggled so much i couldn't even get my ass to a job interview).

    But i still don't know what the cause of my struggles is, only that they've been around as long as i can remember. Some form of psychotic whatever wouldn't surprise me either looking at my mom and what she did. But from what i know (which isn't a lot obviously) it seems more like depression.
