Actually, this town has more than enough room for the two of us

He/him or they/them, doesn't matter too much

Marxist-Leninist ☭

Interested in Marxism-Leninism, but don't know where to start? Check out my Marxist-Leninist study guides, both basic and advanced!

  • Agreed! They take issue more with the argument style to dismiss the substance.

  • It's a real thing, for sure, but more often than not is used as a conversation terminator.

  • Thanks, comrade! No worries, it's very flattering, but this won't be the last time someone accuses you of being me making an alt.

  • Again, I'm not @Cowbee_Admirer@reddthat.com. You can check @vovchik_ilich@hexbear.net's account and see that he writes in a similar style that is distinct from mine. While flattering, I'd actually appreciate if comrade vovchik_ilich didn't use my username as an alt-name, even if it isn't the same, because I don't like the idea of a cult of personality around me and because it can lead to confusion, like here.

I have 3 accounts: @Cowbee@lemmy.ml, @Cowbee@hexbear.net, and @Cowbee@lemmygrad.ml. I used to have a lemm.ee account that I abandoned before making my Lemmy.ml account, made my Hexbear alt a long while after, and a Grad account very recently. I only use Lemmy.ml when interacting with any federated instance, and scroll Grad and Hexbear locally.

All that being said, you have no evidence that I have multiple accounts, nor can you actually argue against the points being made. This is just conspiracy-theory nonsense.

  • I have the same understanding of socialism as Marx, Engels, Lenin, and those who uphold them today. Cuba, Vietnam, the PRC, etc are all examples of socialism. Socialism is, at its simplest, public ownership as the principle aspect of the economy and the working classes in control of the state.

Who are these "modern socialists?" Do you have a country you can point to, or perhaps an organization? Why are these "modern" socialists as compared to what I uphold?

  • Neither do I. They all support the working class controlling the state, the dictatorship of the proletariat, which is what I support.

  • Neither do I. They all support the working class controlling the state, the dictatorship of the proletariat, which is what I support.

  • I don't "lick authoritarian boot" for supporting existing socialism, and the person you're replying to isn't me.

  • Considering you think you're replying to me, I'm not a fascist, I'm a communist, same as Marx, Engels, Lenin, etc. There are no CPC agents pointing guns at me, I'm a communist that organizes in real life.

I also can't ban you anywhere, the only space I moderate is Hexbear's c/theory comm, which on a .world account you can't even see.

  • I'm the same kind of socialist as Marx, Engels, Lenin, etc. I'm a Marxist-Leninist, communist, whatever you want to call me. I'm no Nazi, and equating Nazism with communism contributes to Double Genocide Theory, a form of Holocaust trivialization.

I'm also not banned here either, I can talk to you just fine. This is a conspiracy-theory with 0 evidence, I'm not sure why you believe it so strongly.

  • Always claims of sea-lioning, but never any evidence. You've had me blocked for over a year now, why continue this crusade?

  • Sure, there are a lot of bad-faith critiques going around. I do think that your point using me as an example doesn't really work if your example is out of context. The thing about propaganda is that anyone pushing a particular view is propagandizing, but that doesn't mean it's inherently misinformation. Identifying bias is important, as is developing media literacy to see where people are being less than truthful.

  • I don't really think this is true, I engage with the entirety of what people say. As far as I know, you have Lemmy.ml blocked on your piefed account, and we haven't interacted in years, so I'm not sure where you're getting this idea from.

  • Oh hey, it's worth noting that that particular screengrab is taken out of context and was deliberately intended to make me appear that way. I even concede that one can disagree with Marx and Engels, my point was more against those who claim to agree with them but strongly disagree with the socialist market economy of China. I oppose anyone that tries to treat theory like gospel, that's why I usually don't reference theory directly unless it's directly relevent like it was in this case.

That's the thing, people propagandize about us as well, like the MeanwhileOnGrad crowd that took that snippet out of context. You're doing the same here, by extrapolating an entire behavior of me from a single, out-of-context snippet hosted in a Nazi bar. What's important is that we actually pay attention to what others are saying, because everyone is guilty of thinking they are correct.

  • No you didn't, and no they didn't.

  • They do, actually.

  • Oh I'm well-aware of how imperialism functions today, because I study it. That's how I know that China isn't economically colonizing other states.

Public ownership exists under capitalism, yes, but in capitalism private ownership is the principle aspect. The principle aspect of the economy determines the mode of production, ie controls at a minimum the large firms and key industries with a given class in charge of the state. In the US, private ownership is principle while in the PRC public ownership is principle. Capitalism and socialism aren't determined by their purity.

I'm not jumping through any hoops, nor do I only listen to politicians, I study the systems and listen to researchers, academics, and working class organizations more than anything.

  • To the contrary, they prove mine, despite your fantasies.

  • It isn't imperialism shaped. There's no unequal exchange going on, no underdevelopment, no forced hegemony. The ideology being different helps, but the reason it isn't imperialism is because there's no imperialism. Loans and investments are not inherently imperialism.

Yes, there are no billionaires without mass exploitation, correct. This doesn't mean China isn't socialist or that it's imperialist. China isn't capitalist because public ownership is the principle aspect of the economy, and the working classes are in charge of the state, over what capitalists there are in China.

I'm not jumping through hoops, you just don't know what China's system is, what imperialism is, nor what socialism is, because you're arguing that studying any of these is a waste of time.
