  • Oh no, no more YouTube tech drama

  • I highly doubt anything about that region since western media rarely provides their sources

  • I don’t think a terminally online view necessarily implies one only spends their time online but that their opinions or a set of them are formed based on online discourse.

And to extend my view for the sake of conversation, no I don’t think that view makes sense to me for two reasons. One the world has had many catastrophes throughout history that felt very world ending. I think global warming is going to seriously alter life as we know it but I hope it’s not the end of the human race. Regardless I will not live with a pessimistic view drinking myself to death because of this fact.

Two, if you want an alternative view I’ll give you my Buddhist one. Life is shaped by birth, death, rebirth, and causes and conditions. There is so such thing as the end of anything.

  • No I find that line of thinking cringe and a terminally online position

  • Barely any content, endless reposts, and the same content as found on other popular forums

  • I’m definitely bored of it.

  • So all of dbshitter’s content?

  • Quite insane honestly

  • That’s always such an insane fact to me compared to how many China has. Their traffic cams are impressive

  • The guy who called me a tankie reposts tankie stuff lmao

  • I can respect liking mandalorians since kotor but I’m not sure how to reply nicely to hating andor and loving mando within the new Disney Star Wars. I only found Andor and Rogue had interesting stories that moved the universe forward.

  • I don’t find it worth it at all. Rewatch andor instead

  • You know that app that is boring and a waste of time? We made a FOSS version of it! Pixelfed and Friendica for ya

  • Who cares that much

  • On religion vs cult? I can expand as a religious studies scholar

  • Merriam Webster:

    1. a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious
    2. great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (such as a film or book)
    3. system of religious beliefs and ritual also its body of adherents

OP clearly didn’t mean definition three nor does the average person. Your aggressive response is childish. Maybe grow up?

  • There are many definitions of cult. It can be a negative or dangerous religious group. A religious subset focused on a specific practice. Or a group with an eccentric leader focused on claiming they have the correct interpretation of canon.

Knowing you mean the first negative definition, then religion as the standard doesn’t make much sense. The positive of religion would simply be the benefit of religion, which is dependent on whichever religion is being discussed.

For Buddhism it would be spiritual development, enlightenment, and freedom.

  • The definition of cult is not an organized practice of religion.

This is a r/atheism edge lord response.

  • This is reductive at best.
