LTS (and windows LTSB) is for devices that can’t get OS refreshes on a reasonable schedule. This is a pretty small population, if we’re honest with ourselves. TFA points out the obvious - it’s not “extra stable” it’s “frozen in time”
A relative works for a big accounting firm and they have a massive AI push. It’s not like it’s an industry where precision and accuracy both matter enormously.
P2MP wireless service is often oversubscribed. Starlink provides competition in the space which has required incumbents to pull up their socks. But anywhere that p2mp is used, fibre could be installed. It’s not got that much range. There’s applications for p2mp but if it’s an ISP, run the fibre.
However, it’s pretty difficult to do p2p wireless to a ship without bouncing through space. There are a lot of really good applications for LEO satellite internet but it is a tragedy that it’s not something humanity can get together to build as a common service, but rather it is the property of a couple billionaires.
Hat off in the church and be respectful of the place - like a library. There are people worshipping in the churches. I’m an atheist, but by respecting the space you gain understanding of its importance. Generally a good idea in museums too.
Also, don’t see the world through your phone or selfie stick. Put it away and enjoy the experience. Taking photos to help you remember it is good, but I see too many people watching their trip through a phone as they shoot photo and video constantly instead of being present.
Germany is large with many local cultural and linguistic variations. I don’t think there’s really many unwritten rules, but follow the written rules - don’t litter, walk on the sidewalk not the garden, sort of thing.
Washrooms may require cash. The default water in restaurants is bottled mineral water, not tap.
I think if you have the ability to read and speak English you’ll be able to get by. Two weeks of Duolingo can help with basic pronunciation and vocabulary.
1 - never saying that they would have done it differently if not outright roasting the work
2 - letting someone else take over their project, willingly, and not because they’re busy. Assuming it’s not a pile of shit they don’t want to do.
Apple with some exceptions has the drivers and hardware sorted out pretty solidly, and they seem to have better memory management than windows; factor in the target market and the BOM cost and Apple is simply going to win this segment if they choose to continue to participate.
Removing parking to improve accessibility for bicycles, transit, and pedestrians - great.
Just putting up parking fees everywhere - not great.
