  • Interesting, guinea pigs do something similar. They have two kinds of poop and one is still nutritious so they eat it again.

  • There is a link to the correct community in the error message, why do you still come here with this?

  • This is so simple and so good at visualizing what dimensions we're talking about!

  • Awesome post!

Cream cheese, Pesto Verde, cucumber and avocado then topped with spinach and sprouts is my go to for fancy bread :)

  • 👁️👄👁️ never

  • It's not epic (maybe epically sad) but the Dango Song intro from Clannad slaps!

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood had a lot of nice intro songs imho with "Again" being the best one.

  • You man as in expensive and more difficult aren't the same thing?

  • What a better way to achieve this, than putting education behind a paywall!

  • Was it also sponsored by the "I want my kids to have a better life than me" crew who then complains about kids having it too easy these days?

  • So you are saying no one ever lies about cheating?

I didn't. That's just not the point here. It's about OPs point of view who came here as a not cheating person to talk about their feelings because their partners parents feel like OP may have cheated.

No matter the reasoning of the parents, that they assume OP may have done this is a totally understandable reason for OP to feel how they feel.

It's not like you can go to work, trip and fall and get pregnant from that. So asking for this kind of test always comes with a lack of trust.

  • Because they are. The fact that there's nothing for you to hide it's what's making it feel like that because your boyfriends parents don't (want to) believe you.

All the best for you and your pregnancy! Meanwhile you can use the time and think of extra petty ways to send them the test results (e.g. frame them, make a reveal party, ...).

  • Just imagine the change that could go through social media platforms if, instead of censoring their content, users would just share links to platforms which allow them to freely share without unnecessary censorship.

On the other hand I'm a bit scared of what the rich assholes would come up with instead if they can't work themselves off at the enshitification of reddit et al..

  • Asking once is not pushing. I have C-PTSD and because to that issues with self worth and fears of abandonment. I still get that my spouse and I need to communicate our needs and thoughts. So I get that it's hard and I know that these conversations can be painful. It's still totally possible and necessary to talk about this but the amount of excuses you come up with in this thread make it seem like the issue is more on your than on your SOs side since you seem to have hell of a problem to communicate your needs without feeling bad for it (no offense intended, the struggle is real!).

Having needs is normal, that they sometimes conflict with the comfort zone with your SO is also normal. If you feel like you can't talk to them, write a letter, let them read it in peace and answer you in their preferred way.

  • My sister in law moved in with is when she was 17 and my brother 18 (they married several years later so back then she was just his girlfriend of a year). She dreaded being home and spent most of the time at our house anyway so it wasn't a big change. It worked out pretty well.

My youngest half sister also dreaded being home alone with her mother and spent practically all her free time, including nights at het boyfriends home. When they broke up she bought some farewell gifts for his parents and she cried more about losing her alternative family than about the breakup.

Things can work out, but they don't have to. You know your son and his girlfriend better than us. If you decide to let her move in with you make sure that

    • She can still return home (as in her family welcomes her back and don't make her move official to any authorities, treat it as a veeery long sleepover)
    • She won't stay in a relationship with your son just to stay at your house
    • In case you have any ideas / expectations regarding when they should move out, make it known before
    • Communicate and potential changes in your daily life's upfront e.g. if you expect her to pick up chores when she moves in

If you have a bad feeling about this, doubt this can work, ... Don't do it. You may resent her or your son if things don't work out as you hoped.

  • So I assume you are in a relationship where you can openly talk about your needs and wishes. And in this case asking them would be okay in my book. Depending on your communication it may help to give them some context. I guess your desire to burn their image in your head comes (partially) from the fear of forgetting. I'd also try to think of a way to achieve this without your SO just having to stand there, naked, vulnerable and being started at. How could you make this as comfortable as possible, maybe even fun for both of you?

BUT it has to be clear to your SO that they can say no and that you won't be upset about it. You know your SO best, so I hope your are able to bring this point across.

Your current situation is a conflict of interest. You want to cement that body of your SO into your brain and they likely feel unbelievably uncomfortable with the mere thought of it. Both of you have valid points from your own point of view. My spouse is a very visual person, I have a lot of issues, also related to my body. Sometimes he's taking a few photos so he can stare at them instead. Maybe there are also potential compromises / walk arounds you can find.

Herbei! Wer hilft geschwind? In Feuer steht das ganze Kind! Miau! Mio! Miau! Mio! Zu Hilf'! Das Kind brennt lichterloh!"

I liked these books as a kid. Though brutal they had an obvious moral and it was easy to understand. Unlike the reality we're currently / grew up in.

But I love "The story of a boy who went forth to learn fear" was my most favorite book after I learned to read.
