  • Is equating chatbots with AI any different than equating a bunch of if/else statements with AI? Is any of this AI considering none of it involves actual intelligence or informed decision making?

Sure AI is more than LLMs, but those are the face of it in the public's eye and is what's driving these trillion dollar corporate valuations, which then lead to every company on earth declaring that their product is "AI!"

  • Maybe use ESPHome on to run the servo back and forth a few times and have an automation in Home Assistant to trigger the servo when it detects the toilet running. The hard part would probably be getting power near the toilet and connecting the servo to the handle in some fashion.

  • Precisely because they spend all day at Walmart arresting people. Police work for corporations not the public. We're just responsible for funding them and their lawsuits with our tax dollars.

  • OP I think using PCPartPicker might show you tons of options for cases with 4+ drive capacity. If you want an older case just search ebay for the options you find.

  • You can also mount 2.5" drives into the 3.5: trays if you wanted. Ive had my R6 for years now and just bought a 2-pack of drive caddies as it filled up to the point that I now have enough to fill the whole case.

  • I have a Fractal Define 6 with room for (i think) 12 HDDs. They have tons of great options for HDD storage.

  • Especially one without a mainstream CPU that won't have any support

  • The "CNC mindset" is perfect copies every time. That's the entire purpose of CNC otherwise everyone would just hand cut parts. Stop trying to wear your years of toiling like a badge of honor that permits you to look down on others.

  • 3d printers have been around in consumer form for close to two decades now. There's no excuse for this any longer. The reason there's such a learning curve with printers like this (I've been through it myself) is because they're built with shitty, scrap bin parts to keep prices low. The commercial folks using CNC machines would never, ever settle for junk that fails often and needs a bunch of aftermarket parts swapped in just for basic functionality. I went years on a bed slinger like these with years of more troubleshooting than printing and I would never go back nor would I tolerate it with a new printer.

  • What kind of medicine would you put inside a glass container that has to be shattered to use?

  • Yeah this is pretty much the standard excuse prosecutors use when years later it turns out the guy they convicted was innocent.

  • Just blame it on the googly eyes.

  • Its showing $17.97 USD for me, though I have seen prices charge drastically once you actually log in.

  • After years of not touching books, I recently went and renewed mine and my daughters library cards to get her (and me) reading more over the summer. Currently I'm reading Dan Brown's newest book Secret of Secrets, which has been a pretty interesting mystery/thriller but also delves into the nature of consciousness and explores alternative ideas about what it is, at least in a fictional setting.

  • I would say it's a federation issue but your account and the community are both on the same instance, so I dunno. Typically I've only seen that when subscribing to a community on a new instance since your instance won't populate posts from another instance until you or someone else first subscribes to it.

Does it show you as being logged in when you click the community link?

  • That wouldn't make any sense considering the text is two people arguing with one another. Each one is facing a different direction.

Edit: you are correct. For some reason my brain inserted a line at the beginning arguing that "violence can be effective at bringing about change" which turns the whole thing in to an argument between two yellow guys.

  • Alternatively, you get a second cat and they both hate each other which leads to years of behavioral issues too. I don't think having multiple cats is always the best way to go, especially staggering them out like that. I've had cats my whole life and each one is different. I think if you do plan on having multiple, getting siblings is probably your best bet since they've always known one another, but even then that's no guarantee they'll enjoy eachothers company once they reach adulthood.
