  • The chance to get lucky and pick a long, random password is still ridiculously small. The chance to pick admin123 is ridiculously large. You see the difference?

  • I understand why both of you might be upset but they will eventually understand why it wasn’t the best gift idea for you and all will be fine. Those things happen, don’t interpret so much into it. It might not be as obvious to them as you think it should be that you don’t like new things. Talk about it in a respectful way, they wanted to do something nice for you after all.

  • With my work skills I won’t be particularly useful before the first high level programming languages started coming in the 60s. But I also gained some handiwork knowledge over time so I won’t be a lost cause if someone sends me further back.

  • I also recommend some Von Wegen Lisbeth

  • Germany mostly shines with Rap and Pop music.

Try out these and let Spotify recommend you similar stuff if you like it

    • Mine - MEIN HERZ
    • Danger Dan - Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit gedeckt
    • Antilopen Gang - Pizza
    • Alligatoah - Willst du
    • Peter Fox - Alles Neu
    • Samy Deluxe - Weck mich auf
    • Grossstadtgeflüster - Fickt-Euch-Allee
    • Deichkind - So ne Musik
    • AnnenMayKantereit - Oft gefragt
    • Herbert Grönemeyer - Bochum

  • I’ve also been using my hand to create the border in the past, it’s an even simpler solution that creates good results. It also has the benefit that you can feel where you are, while the comb is a bit more technical.

I never thought I would continue this after Covid but I like working on improving my cut and it’s good enough now that I don’t feel I need someone else. Always found interactions with hair dressers a bit awkward so I’ll gladly leave this behind me.

  • I’m doing it since Covid. No ideas about long hair but for me it’s simple:

With a hair clipper 9mm on the sides and back

12mm on the top (with the natural hair direction, not against)

Now the lower back is the hardest and it will never be amazing but gets better over time. I bought a hand mirror and use it to find where to create the border. I hold my comb in a roughly 20 degrees angle over that line and cut everything below with 3mm. This way I can’t overshoot and the angle creates a decent transition. If I want to improve it, I start another line below for a 0mm cut.

I would personally like to make an even shorter cut but my hair is pretty thin in some areas and then it looks spotty. At some point I might go full Heisenberg but there is still time.

I use a Remington QuickCut for most of my head and a Phillips 7000 series for details, beard and down under.

The only time I went to a professional since covid was for my brothers wedding.

  • And a turbo button

  • Also true in Germany

  • That money would be gone for all the bureaucracy around whatever you're planning.

  • Missable or multiplayer-only achievements. Or the ones that force you to replay the game.

Ghost of Yōtei is doing it well. Everything is available at all times after the main story is completed in a single game. I could think of a few possible achievements they could have created that would be missable but I'm glad they didn't.

GTA5 has a lot of multiplayer achievements I could never get because I hate GTA Online.

Talos Principle 2 has at least two achievement that each needs a replay to the end and you have to follow a specific path of talking to characters that you don't know upfront if you're not looking online for it. So if you're trying this without a guide you might end up replaying it more than twice. That's shitty.

  • I read that as Malcom McDowell and I was ok with that.

  • Huh I was under the impression that SSDs don’t last as long as hard discs.

  • I am getting 7h of sleep

  • Normal people aren’t but I am. Perfect time to work undisturbed!

  • Boring Days - Directed by Wim Wenders. It could work.

  • For example discussions about specific games or series because Lemmy just doesn’t have any of that. It seems to be only interested in Linux, politics and general news.

I created a lurker account for Reddit after I deleted my main, so I can visit all subreddits. But I don’t subscribe to anything and don’t really hang out there a lot.
