I used to work as an intern in a PC repair shop and we had a guy come in saying his new self build computer doesn’t work. Turns out he cut a huge part off the mainboard so it fits into the case.
Some of the others are 90% there on quality, which is enough for me to ditch Lego. I can’t accept their insane pricing anymore and the color consistency is also getting worse.
If you mean flying cars that will replace regular cars, I don't think anyone ever tried it really. There have been prototype cars with wings but no one took that seriously. More recently what everyone keeps trying is drones as taxis but I hope that fails because I don't want that noise pollution.
On average between 400 and 450 euros. I live alone, do home cooking (mostly), vegetarian or vegan and I rarely look at prices when I shop groceries. Only if the final amount is surprisingly high I look at the receipt and will adjust my decisions next time.
I used it a few times with measurements around the house but sure, it’s not a daily occurrence.
What most annoys me about imperial are the recipes. Why the fuck do you not weigh your ingredients? Instead you have to put everything in these measuring cups, shake it or even press it in so it sits flat. How many carrots is 1 cup of diced carrots? With experience you will know but if it said grams, you could weigh the whole thing in the store and be done with it. It doesn’t need to be very precise with cooking but you get the idea.
I lived alone for most of my life and I agree. Had a friend from another country visit and sleep at my place for a week and even though I like him I am glad he’s gone now. It’s my safe space.
CORS has always been a problem. I keep having to remind the backend team to send proper headers. They say it works in curl so why not in the browser. It’s not very intuitive.
I used to buy a new one every two years, now it’s 3-4 years. The new phones just don’t excite me anymore and I’m basically just waiting for the battery to run down or it becoming laggy.
Currently have an iPhone 15 Pro so there still some time until I need a new one. Not a fan of the new design anyways.
