  • I first got glasses around 7 or 8 years old. I think I adapted pretty quickly, because I don't recall ever having any problems adjusting.

It wasn't untilI was about 19 or 20 that I started to get headaches and motion sickness, after my prescription took a significant update. I think just the shape of the glasses I had at the time, combined with the much stronger prescription, was causing a fish-eye sort of effect for me and was making me nauseated, so I switched to contact lenses and have been wearing those ever since. I've not worn actual glasses for about 20 years now.

I definitely recommend trying out contacts, especially for the nausea.

  • Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

  • I feel like this site needs more attention.

  • No! I'm sick of these influencers giving a platform to fascist birds. Enough is enough! cancelmrpigeon

  • The internet has ruined me, because I don't think I had the same interpretation as everyone else.

  • Launched an investigation? The answer is simple: Elon is a disgusting little bitch with too much money for his own good and buys his way out of facing the consequences of his actions. And he also worked in the country illegally and should be sent to CECOT.

There. Didn't require a whole investigation, you guys. Holy shit, the government really is wasting resources these days.

  • It is messed up but the truth is sometimes hard to hear.

Which is precisely why we will never stop demanding the truth.

  • "You KNOW better than to touch me when I've been in the sun all day!"

  • Oops, sorry. This is pork-derived water.

  • Nobody deserves tainted food.

  • It's not surprising to me at all. I occasionally have to use TikTok for work (ugh), and some of the hashtags I have to check on are also used by children, so young kids will often pop up in my work feed. Usually it's just something benign like a dancing video, but I've stumbled on some where these kids, who aren't even out of high school, talking about how they're going to "drop the link" the day they turn 18, which for some of these kids isn't for another five damn years. It's disturbing how open children are about entering this line of work. And it doesn't help that they constantly have adults creeping around in kids' thirst trap videos, validating these thoughts in their comments.

I don't like where this is headed.

  • Ah yes, the three genders: Boy, Girl, and Black.

  • The 3DS version is fantastic, although I really don't like the updates they made to most of the boss fights. They changed the design for some of the bosses in a way that just feels out of place, thematically. But there's so many other QoL improvements that I'd say it's still worth playing over the N64 version.

  • Lmfao fuck that. Proud Jew here, and I'm going on Amazon right now to buy Israeli flags and lighters. Sic semper tyrannis, motherfucker.

  • You can, it's just not the most streamlined process. If you're federated and you can find your instance's copy of the thread, you can generally reply to Mastodon comments just fine.

At least, I'm pretty sure that's not just an Mbin thing. I'm almost positive Lemmy can do it, too.

  • 😏

  • I'd predict 9/11 five years early. Nobody would believe me. How would a kid this young even know these words I'm saying? What can an 8 year old possibly know about Al Queda and the Taliban? How did he even hear about these organizations in the first place, they'd ask. His parents must leave the TV tuned to the news all day, they'd say. What an active imagination this young man has.

I think I'd end up creating my own 11.22.63 scenario.

  • Totally not cult behavior at all.
