  • Ever notice how there is only one crab in all of bikini bottom, and he's known for serving crabby patties?

  • Well, thank you for that. That's a great weight off me mind. Now, if you wouldn't mind telling me who the fuck you are, apart from someone who feeds people to pigs of course?

  • This.

I am the person you are talking about. I've looked into graphene before and I do host some of my own services at home. I also work full time and I don't want to spend all of my free time managing things. I use F-Droid, but I am on stock android on my pixel.

I appreciate the privacy and FOSS nature of F-Droid, but I use things like Android auto Google maps for work, I use banking apps on my phone as well. I know technically micro G and blah blah blah, but like I said: work full time.

  • I was running an old t410 with dual X5650s for ages. Super power hungy. I've recently moved to an older Dell Optiplex 7020 with an i5 4570, running 32 gb ram (not supported according to dell, but works fine). I'm running like 7 vms on proxmox and I haven't seen any issues.

I just spun up a second 7020 as a proxmox backup server and my whole home lab power consumption went from around 130 watts to around 170 watts.

  • I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city keeping its speed over 50 and if it's speed dropped, it would explode. I think it was called "the bus that couldn't slow down"

  • Do you accept bits of string?

  • I got a key out of a similar situation in the folks RV the other day using a small flat screw driver and a knife to pinch the key and pull it out...

  • Well I'm starting to run into some issues that, from my limited research, seem to be specific to the snap version of Nextcloud.

Face and object recognition in the Recognize app are broken. Something something node.js something something snap version.

FFmpeg in the Memories app is also not working. Again, this seems to be specific to the snap version.

  • THERE ARE FIVE LIGHTS!

  • They wouldn't do it right anyway

  • Good luck

  • I have seen others say that youtube channels have their own RSS feeds. Could plug each YouTube channel you want to follow into an RSS app of your choice. Not ideal, but should avoid algorithms

  • I am serious. And don't call me shirly.

  • VPN is the way to go if you're not sharing it with a bunch of people

  • You... Wait... To repost this meme?

  • I didn't think they'd eat my face

  • Thanks, I'll have a look!

  • I currently have some notes in Nextcloud notes which I quite like. I don't need anything too fancy. Markdown is nice to have, but not required if there is some ui way to make checkboxes. If I remember correctly, in the nextcloud notes app you have to set the folder that it uses. Which makes shared notes impractical, if not impossible.

Because of this, I still have several notes shared with my wife in Google keep for things like shopping lists. I'm tempted to test out the shopping list function in home assistant, but not sure if it will fit the needs. Would be nice to find something that covers all my use cases in one app.
