  • Love the link, i so miss this kinda stuff. I actually want to click each page.

  • OMG Love it. Thanks

Both the neocities and https://marginalia-search.com/ were very helpful.

I would love to hear more about this organic movement. If you ever want to do a regular post on it, i feel a lot here might respond.

It would be really good if we could have our neocities attached to our name or something....remember when everyone had a sig with 15 useful links. i forgot that

  • Why have we, as a society, grown to fear them? - Yes, people have been conditioned to ask are you OK but not actually do anything. We have also as a society become more fluffy and less accepting of anger and frustration which are very valid feelings. But you are expected to just to just go be quiet elsewhere. If you make a scene you are called dramatic/karen etc.

I think its great we can talk about feelings, and let them out, we as a society have absolutely gotten better at being able to express...(if politely) but in terms of help and support when fixing that's a bit lacking.

The therapy thing seems a very USA/entitled thing, just pay to have it fixed. Most don't have that luxury. But the bottom line is you may need to work on how you handle things. I know its easily said but anger and resentment can be used to fuel you to do good. Just remember there are people who care, even if its just another internet buddy.

  • It used to be so much fun mooching around and stumbling on things, like a site covered in rainbows that told you about a the best walks on a local mountain and then had a random ice cream recipe and some happy person taking a silly photo of themselves, followed by a review of their fav spoon and some instructions on how to fix a vacuum.

  • I feel like there has been waves of losses.

    • Web 2.0 upgrades made everyone feel like they had to have a shiny polished site. We lost a lot of fun amateurs.

Once apps started getting pushed websites started to get abandoned/empty. everything from shopping to small games. I shouldn't need an app for the coffee shop.

Bots and bad search operators made looking and finding a chore.

Insta killed blogs, suddenly everyone wanted a insta or YT brand rather than a blog/rss

    • Everything became sponsored =- say i wanted to find out how to polish my boots, the first 3 pages and everything everywhere suddenly tries to sell me boots.

This is why i no longer enjoy the internet. I know i sound old man yelling at cloud.

  • I think this too, along with other video and reel based content. It’s an addiction.

  • They are pretty cute tho.

  • Yeh i agree. I feel like it has evolved and the newer argument is the contestants know what they are getting into, and honesty some are good looking but the vanity combined with the lean into judgment just feels unhuman to me.

Even moderate shows, i liked the Great British Bake off but as soon as they started the whole "its my dying grandams recipe and she wants me to win" i was like nope turn it off. I am happy to chatch challenge, or genuine perseverance, but not emotional drama thanks. I quite like some of the dog adoption ones too.

  • People who watch love island/MAFS etc style reality need a head shake. They all say they watch it ironically, nah its just trashy and you are trashy for watching.

  • My fave line. That's an explanation, not an excuse.

  • The recent episode of GB sewing bee had contestants making knickers out of jersey t-shirts they got 3 pairs per t-shirt. Plus some elastic and time of course. But you do also need a sewing machine however its a good machine for life.

  • They should change squatting laws and keep a very public list of empty homes

  • I think too many people think that negotiation is enough it’s not. Unfortunately we do need social tension as the rich recurrently take advantage.

  • I am ok with them becoming physically unsafe.

  • Maybe even they are sick of dealing with CEO’s

  • They do. Ironically a lot of users criticise particular group of people of users being in the grip of sky etc.

I know the word addiction isn’t quite right but YT is still a social media.

  • No the world needs more of you.

  • Nightmares back to speakers wires that were just never long enough.
