Yeh, agree. But for a lot of people they are the easiest option after Amazon/google/apple etc
Not everyone is techy enough to have means to pull components together and configure, And then put up with semi reliable solutions. People need to acknowledge this rather than downvote. It’s weird.
I understand that and unfortunately the industries I work in expect waffle and showiness. The weird thing is in almost every exit interview my bosses tend to mention the appreciated my frankness. It must just slip out. I do get tired of the pretentiousness. It may not be that for a lot of people but that’s how it feels, like a linguistic game.
I come from low socioeconomic so often a few words was enough. As I have grown and travelled I have adopted fillers, esp when writing. I often feel like I use too many which feels like I am betraying my natural way of communicating. But this also boosted by my likely ADHD. It’s usually too much, or too little, I just can’t get that middle ground.
Unfortunately the urge to create and push content has created a lot of illustrations and animation that is total tat. Just because you can does not mean you should. It’s the same as the insta tropes, unoriginal and annoying AF.
The thing is…creators are gonna keep doing it if people keep mindlessly watching it. So easiest way is to review just how much slop you consume. I am not trying to be condescending, just an observation.
Corned beef hash. Couple of peeled potatoes. Tin of corned beef. A onion (I blend to hide it) enough water to just cover it. Splodge of brown sauce/seasoning.
You are not wrong. It is a social media and TBF the term has been poisoned by many platforms. I think just like drinks there are healthier options. Healthier online community spaces and I’d like to think this place is one of them.
It is an addiction that takes steps of lesser. The place you visit. How long you stay there are steps of management.
Ordinary people now spend their lives promoting investments they barely understand, products that do not work, and political claims they have never examined. Many earn nothing. They are unpaid distributors for someone farther up the pyramid. The consumer, salesman, and product have collapsed into the same exhausted person.
Until everyone looks at their phone/app/online usage and questions how they are being 'used' it will still continue to drag along like a zombie. I regullay stop and ask whose tail i am wagging.
This gives you grit and determination. Sometimes you get a tough hand but climbing out and doing it quietly well is something to be proud of, amongst the guilt.
Agree with author. Its rarely better for you, its rarely done well. Its always more for the benefit of their engagement stats. Resist the marketing bullsheet!
