The Brits actively shipped beef out of Ireland while people starved. The Brits also forced the Irish to labor in pointless workhouses to "earn" their food. For instance the Brits would force the Irish to build roads that led to nowhere. Apparently those pathways to nothing are still littered around Ireland.
There is no logic in mans lust for power. The most self serving will do whatever it takes to achieve wealth, status, and control. The world made so much more sense once I realized that.
It isn't a decision we made. Were born into a system that's the culmination of trillions of man hours. How do you one day look at that great beast, and between hundreds of millions of individuals with their own ideas, biases, social standings, etc all collectively decide to say no at the same time? It's a monumental task.
I know someone that hasn't paid their taxes in years and they've yet to face consequences. I genuinely do wonder if the IRS has the capability to enforce tax collection atm.
Reading that first paragraph makes me physically sick to my stomach. The impermanence of everything is killing me. There is no point. I cannot find a point of my own. It's legitimately driving me insane.
I worry the average person has no idea how to torrent.
