  • Nope, no lye. Her recipe is very similar to this one if you want a starting point. Hers is a bit different but I’m not sure what changes she’s made. She has followed that one exactly before though and it turned out really good.

  • My wife’s homemade bagels with cream cheese, if that counts.

If not, then sourdough rye with smoked Gouda.

  • I know it might be cliche but Massey Hall is probably my favourite venue I’ve been to. I’ve only gone twice but loved the venue almost as much as the shows themselves.

  • I’ve started going in to work early so I’m getting up at 4:30 every morning now. Last week I was texting a friend who hadn’t gone to bed yet while I was getting ready for work. He works a typical 9-5 office job from home so he probably wakes up pretty late by my standards, even still he was probably pretty tired that day at work. But that’s his norm, it’s crazy to me.

  • My black cat is exactly like this. I love it.

  • Yeah I was on Apollo right up to the end, then came here. Made accounts on .world, .ca, and sh.itjust.works and stuck with the latter. I chose it because it’s based in east coast Canada and I’ve stuck with it because it’s been the most consistently reliable.

  • I love your floors.

    And cat. Cute cat too.

  • Back when I was still on Instagram there was an account that would post fake Seinfeld plots like this, it was one of my favourite accounts on there.

  • World tour featuring 500 US cities, and 3 Canadian cities. That should allow everyone in the world the chance to see the tour.

  • I don’t listen to much Beach Boys but I’ve got a lot of respect for that album.

  • I grew up front-only too. When my wife and I got our first apartment together, we tried front and back for a bit but it didn’t do anything noticeable so we just do front. Like you said, since it’s a bag it compresses easily. If it were a hard plastic for some reason, that would be a different story. I know there’s a strong discourse on it but after trying both sides, I’m a firm believer in the front-only technique.

  • Thanks for the detailed response! It’s a world I didn’t even know existed until I saw your post. I’m currently in a coffee hyperfocus but maybe when that subsides I’ll look more into staplers, despite not really needing to use them much. My wife is gonna kill me.

  • We usually do cloth bags these days but I don’t see why not.

It’s pretty common in certain parts of Canada to buy milk in bags. They usually come 3 bags in one larger bag, the whole thing totalling 4L (so 1.3L per bag) which you’d put in a milk pitcher. You can get cheap plastic pitchers at the grocery store or nicer ones from kitchen stores or pottery fairs. I personally have a nice pottery one from a local potter. The pottery keeps the bag cold for much longer on the counter or table, plus it happens to look nice.

This is what they look like from the grocery store:

And here’s one in a cheap plastic pitcher:

  • Shop in Canada and you can get it pre-bagged :)

  • I have a bit of a hobby of collecting collections so I may regret asking this, but…

What do you recommend for staplers? What’s something to look for? What’s something to avoid? Are there any enthusiast favourites? I’m always curious about more niche hobbies and collections.

  • On iOS you can get uBlock Origin Lite for Safari and it works very well. You can also download the Orion browser which lets you get Firefox and Chrome extensions and can get uBO or whatever else that way too.

  • Their collars are breakaway, I remember the pet shop clerk gave us a lecture about it when we said we were new cat owners and weren’t sure everything we’d need. I’ve only had my cats for a little over a year so I do appreciate the advice, I still feel like I’m learning all the time. My only other experience with a pet is my parents’ dog so I’m no expert in having pets in general, so any advice is always nice. Thanks for taking the time to offer some.

  • I do have a bell for both my cats but they haven’t worn them since being kittens. They both absolutely hated the bell and it killed me a little to see them constantly trying to take it off. I could always try again now that they’re older but we’ll see.

  • Probably not the worst idea honestly, he’s constantly running between my feet anytime I walk across the room. Midnight bathroom runs are a fun time.
