  • Yeah, pretty much. Mechanical engineer, but on the tooling side of things and not production. When shit hits the fan, it's typically during office hours. Honestly, I haven't even charged my work phone in probably 6 months because it's so rare anybody needs me when I'm not at my computer.

But my personal phone is always on silent, too. Not even vibrate. To the irritation of my wife.

  • Ah, now that makes sense.

  • No thank you.

  • I just wear a mechanical watch and keep my phone on silent 100% of the time. I'll look at it eventually.

  • I prefer to have dumb, discrete devices in near all cases. TV, appliances, bulbs AND switches. Watches (mechanical only, please). I don't connect any game consoles to the internet. I can't think of any devices that actually need "smart" features.

  • Question about gagh. Is it seasoned? Or sauced? Or is it just plain serpent worms? Because that doesn't seem like much of a delicacy. Sounds pretty low effort, actually.

  • Awkward

  • I meant TNG, but you're right I should just watch both.

  • I was just thinking about that episode! Guess it means I need to watch it again.

  • I've been playing it on my potato tablet that I revived with Linux recently. It's basically the only game that runs on it. Well, only thing better than Solitaire or Mahjongg. It's really impressive, takes me back to my Compaq LTE 5300 and playing RCT when it was new.

  • I think it's.... GLORIOUS.

  • From the headline? No. But I could have just searched for it, or read the article. But it's more amusing to make a slightly amusing comment.

  • I have no idea what Deezer is, and I'm afraid if I ask, somebody is just going to say "DEEZER NUTS!!!" and I will realize it was a big prank.

  • They are big and you are small, you can't fight city hall!

  • Close for me.

  • This clip lives rent free in my head.

So does Mr. Bighead's song about hating recycling.

  • Whenever I play Fallout as myself, my characters always end up super evil. What does that say about me? Ive been doing a playthrough of New Vegas recently consciously trying to make all good choices. I'm getting dialog I've never seen before. It's like playing a whole new game. It's wild. Sometimes, I have to quicksave and wipe out an entire casino, eating every corpse, and meticulously making a pile of dismembered torsos to make a bonfire. But after a couple of hours, I load back and continue being good.

The one evil choice I did keep is trading Cass for the kidnapped son at the Ultra Luxe.. whoops. Yeah, I'm still a cannibal. But it's really more of a practicality than a moral issue. If it was that bad, you'd lose more karma for it!

  • Is the title from Trouble with Tribbles? My TOS trivia is worse than my TNG.

  • Ah, I must have missed those. Yeah, Real Monsters was a fun one. I really liked that one as a kid. Tried to revisit recently with my kid, and it didn't hit the same. Then again, neither does Rocko or Ren and Stimpy. Guess I have to chalk it up to getting old or maturing or something. I still classify them as "good" shows, rating them through the lens of youth. Still love Rugrats. My wife and I watched the whole series together before we even had a kid.
