  • Yeah I distinctly remember N64 games being $60 in the late 90s. We saved a lot with digital downloads vs retail over the years but it is funny that games have largely been level in price for 30 years at this point.

  • 8th grade me jealous the snipers on the Lincoln Memorial had a better view of the fireworks.

  • The Department of Education currently manages a student loan debt portfolio of more than $1.6 trillion.  This means the Federal student aid program is roughly the size of one of the Nation’s largest banks, Wells Fargo.  But although Wells Fargo has more than 200,000 employees, the Department of Education has fewer than 1,500 in its Office of Federal Student Aid.  The Department of Education is not a bank, and it must return bank functions to an entity equipped to serve America’s students.

Move student loans to private banks! There it is.

  • Interesting. I prefer hyphens to improve readability

  • This tracks. Signal claims to have your phone number and logs on the last time that number accessed the service.

They could not generate new access codes via Twilio when certain patterns are detected and still be within that known data.

  • Well at least Nicole from Toronto in their inbox.

  • No I generally have to seek out UHT milk if needed.

  • I’ve seen a couple mentions of YouTube in this thread. Not sure if this is source inspiration of your meme, but in case…

The Roku TV YT app has been heavily enshitified in the last 6-8 months. Keep in mind, ads on this format (CTV) typically run $12-35 per 1,000 views.

They are bit rate throttling content and it most commonly occurs on content one year or older. YT has a dismissible call to action to upgrade to premium to remove this experience.

When you pause, the app shows a display ad sidebar to the paused video.

When the TV goes into initial sleep mode after a longer pause the YT app will lose the current video and land you back on the home page.

My experience is with using the YT app on Roku TV unauthenticated.

  • Back when Pelosi was pushing the Affordable Care Act she came on KQED and railroaded the host, basically just ignored all the questions to deliver the party line. I was bruh this is your home base and acted like it was hostile territory.

Pelosi has been a huge fundraiser and leader for the Democrats, but might as well live on planet Mars when it comes to understanding working class people, even in the Bay Area.

We need a leadership vacuum in the Democratic Party to even hope of changing anything significantly.

  • I’ve heard of a technique to track specific vehicles based on the tire pressure monitoring system in newer cars that use Bluetooth. I kinds of assume anything wireless that broadcasts a unique ID can be tracked somehow.

  • I would be curious to poll the Seattle WTO protesters and see how they voted in the last election.

I recently moved to the Midwest from the West Coast and understand how Globalist policy kinda sucks for a lot of people out here.

  • From a purely consumer perspective, fast food prices increased to the price territory of superior fast casual and independent restaurants while being significantly lower quality.

How did this happen without the other options increasing prices at the same rate? McDonalds lost their value proposition and eaters adjusted.

People didn’t stop ordering burgers, but they can get a great one over McD’s for maybe 20% more cost.

  • First 48 is about finding a victim alive. Murderers are commonly identified and caught outside that window.

  • If it takes a couple hours to extract money from somebody they don’t want to waste an hour on someone they can’t close.

Scams are still businesses that care about efficiency.

  • Yeah the first bullet copy with the comma and wrong preposition is clearly unprofessional. These scams always use poor contrasting red warning text as well.

  • This is fucking delicious. Chicken soup for my despair post election.

  • Check California’s law on what constitutes an assault rifle. Centerfire rifles with certain features cannot have a detachable mag. You have to break apart the firearm to reload.

Your other option is a featureless rifle which can have a detachable mag. Either way you’re capped at 10 rounds.

  • You summed up my questions about the situation. I do not understand the change in course late in the election.

If WaPo announced this in February, sure. It’s a little weird that news orgs officially endorse candidates.
