  • I agree, but often times these are written intentionally confusing. The info should be presented in a manor that the entire population can understand it clearly.

    Make the existing situation more digestible while improving the education system. Unfortunately, there are many adults that are no longer in the education system that won't directly benefit from better education standards, so we need to accommodate them as well.

  • It's definitely being pushed by influencers, but there's no way it's getting any real adoption. People already familiar with Linux aren't installing this for real use em masse, and people not familiar aren't going this route with their first distro. I think the hype is all fabricated and pushed to the forefront of the algorithm.

    I never said there wasn't risk. My reply to your initial comment is pointing out that what you said is defeatist. Per my other reply, you can see that I literally said that the GOP could be successful.

There absolutely is a risk that the GOP will be successful in there election fuckery, but comments like yours are like propaganda that can lead to apathy whether that's your intent or not.   • It depends on your tolerance for how bad that person is and how much you want to contribute to their financial well being. For JK Rowling, my opinion is that if JK just said she doesn't like trans people, I'd disagree, but that by itself may not be a reason to not enjoy the work produced by her. However, she actively fights to put down trans people and spreads transphobia. That is reason enough for me to never do anything that will finance her and therefore support her actions.

    In this case, Tolkein is long dead. Nothing I do now will contribute to him further pushing and supporting fascism.

    Everyone gets to make this choice on their own. Nobody said you're not allowed to enjoy that art. If you decide that you're fine supporting artists through thick or thin and there's no line they can cross that will turn you away, then you can't be surprised or upset when other people change their opinion of you as a person. If you're okay with that, then that's fine, it's your life, live it.

  • I don't have faith in the SCOTUS to not fuck this up, but the law looks to be written pretty explicitly in favor of the veto referenda. Being that there's no accountability for SC justices, they wouldn't have to justify why they voted in favour of Hoskins, but if they did, I can't see any valid argument, or really even any false arguments.

  • If you read the article, you'll see this has nothing do to with Republicans even though it reads like something they do maliciously.

    The rules were written by Democrats and are being enforced by Democrats. I can't say if what they're doing is fair, but the points made in the article sounds like there are some valid justifications, but I'm not well versed enough to know if they are valid.
