  • That's a lot of wasted space filled with air. Pack that shit with cream cheese at least!

  • The ethical stuff is a real issue, not just how the training is derived but wealth inequality being accelerated and so on.

That said if you find yourself in a place where it's "use AI or lose your job", using AI is probably best unless you're independently wealthy already.

And if you're in that place, don't use it wrong. Make sure to train the AI you're using on correct (and ethically sourced) materials. GPTs your company pays for will have a path to this for example.

Just asking an untrained AI specific questions about your work isn't likely to end well. And then people give up on the tool and eventually lose their job over it.

It sucks ass, and I expect down votes for even sharing this. But I know too many people who have been let go and are really struggling to find another job. So do what you need you do to keep feeding your family.

And vote against the assholes putting us in this place. Join a Union if you can, etc.

  • I had given up on my art after decades of no progress. I spent the time I would have spent on improving my art (and many other things) on raising my children instead.

When A1111 came out I tried it and was trying to train it on my old art. I thought maybe AI can bridge the gap in my technical shortcomings.

I got frustrated that I couldn't get it to replicate my style so I bought a wacom knockoff to fill in the blanks where the AI struggled. That lead to more actual practice and me getting better without AI and shortly there after giving up on AI image generation.

Now I can do some pretty good stuff I could never do two or three years ago. And the be toy that is AI got me started again.

I never considered anything I did with A1111 to be "art", it was a toy I was trying to push to its limits and that processes got me back into a hobby I love.

  • 🤣🤣🤣🧡

  • I bet it would feel great on your chitinous hooves! And I hate the feeling as well. The lotion was prescribed as part of my recovery from second degree burns. I found a way to tolerate it. Mostly including wiping my hands off between the fingers. So gross.

And how many of too many pancakes? And does the quality of pancake play a part in the equation?

  • Regular lotion on feet, hands, elbows, knees, etc. is worth it.

  • 🤣

  • Flat Earther: Complicated explanation on why it's flat

Me: Your argument is flawed. Look the earth is flat but your argument is missing the important part.

Flat Earther: (leans in with excitement)

Me: The oceans, all of them, none of them are carbonated... all flat!

  • Ouch, clearly whoever was hiring for that role wasn't in the loop.

  • It very much was. Heart breaking.

  • There is a lot of that. But there is also a lot going on behind the scenes that can cause a posting to be pulled. Particularly as spicy (shitty) as the economy is these days.

  • I did a "final" interview, thought I nailed it. The following Monday they reposted the job. Wednesday I met with who would be my boss. Friday was had a job offer. I work here now.

I asked recruiting. He said the ATS reposts job postings that aren't filled every three weeks and apologized for the anxiety I experienced.

  • You have to watch the commercial before you can access the turn signals, right?

  • No no, he's saying you should face away from the sign because then the turn behind you would be on the right like the sign says.

  • Oh no, I didn't eat the diarrhea lettuce! Just the sandwich.

  • It's French dip with Mexican grilled cheese! And I hope to hear how it went for you.

  • Lettuce, pickled onions, guac

  • The owner told us make Birria beef and save the sauce. Pair the beef with a melty cheese and instead of butter dip the bead in the Birria sauce. It burns fast so cook it carefully and not too hot. Once you get that perfect crust serve with some of the Birria to dunk it in.

    Perfection in my opinion!

  • Yeehaw! See you in a few days.
