  • From personal experience posting my content on multiple platforms, Lemmy's userbase is by far the most fragile one regarding sexism.

    Yes, even worse than Reddit, where this very comic had its comment section locked by the rcomics mods due to the hundreds of pissed off dudes crying in the comments. At least they get downvoted on Reddit. Lemmy really is dudebro land, and needs to fix that if it wants to grow further (which I would like as a Lemmy enjoyer).

    I've said this a few times already, and it usually makes Lemmy users uncomfortable, so I'll keep repeating it as often as necessary.

    Good luck moderating this place, hope my provocative content doesn't create too many moderation headaches, I've stirred up the userbase quite a few times in the past :)

    As a former mod of some big communities, make sure to always remember it's a volunteer task and not a job. You don't owe anyone explanations, you're allowed to be wrong, you can take breaks, even if you're doing your best some people will dislike you no matter what. Keep it cool or it might affect your mental health. Remember this comment if you ever feel burnt out!

  • It's not a bot, it's a person who purposefully removes attribution from content they share on Lemmy. It's their entire personality.

    Their logic makes no sense (other than being an asshole), so their attempts to justify it make no sense either.

    You wouldn't even know there's a website to follow in the first place if I didn't sign my work.

    I might have the most subtle and easy to remove signature of everyone who shares content here, yet you still find a way to complain. Your crusade is childish and you deserve to be piled on by everyone who can't wait for mods to come back and shut you up for good.

  • You do sound like a dick whether you mean it or not.

    Use a search engine and look up what a watermark is. It's text that's spread all over the image, making it impossible to use/share without removing it, thus making the removal of attribution impossible. I add a signature to my comics, not a watermark. It's small and, as you just proved by doing it, very easy to remove if you think a discreet attribution is the same as an advertisement.

    The goal of signing the comic is not to make anyone "feel guilty" if they remove the signature (it happens often anyway so many people clearly don't care), it's to allow people who see this comic and want to see more by the same artist to visit the website where they can find more. On the website, there are no ads, no products being sold, it's purely there to share content with others who are looking for it.

    Piss off and go bother people who care about your shitty trolling attempts instead, I'm not falling for your low tier bait (if you're not trolling then you're just being a gigantic asshole on purpose and that's not any better).
