  • Thanks, will have a look at that.

  • No, but if you have a link... 😉

I am pretty sure that such a service exists, but I can't find it.People paid cash, and it converted to crypto. Similar to paying USD/GBP or EUR on an online store e.g. Amazon UK/DE/COM etc.

Ideally, like paying USD on Amazon UK so that I don't get stung with Amazons exchange rate or eBay (or Paypals) etc.

  • Yes, it seems it does.. and they look good. 🙂

    Example here - https://piefed.social/topics

I got it from here - Scroll down to differences between Lemmy and PieFed.

  • Thanks, will look for it. Hopefully can find some info. 🤞

  • Ah ok. Thanks.

  • Thanks. Does PieFed have subcategories?

Is it possible (or difficult) to migrate an entire forum from vanilla to a lemmy instance?

  • I have added an idea to the OP as I think (and hope) that might make some sort of difference.

How to combat Ticketmaster / Livenation?

  • They always deflect and cry anti-Semitism. I think that's partially why the attempt at genocide has been allowed to go on for so brutally long. It's like the boy who cried wolf. Most don't even listen to them anymore. In fact, an anti-zionist group should be set up to double down on them for educational purposes so that they can see why it's wrong, also to lobby against what they are calling for (in this case, somebody's livelihood).

Who should be be replaced by, in their opinion?

Going Dark expert group – EU’s surveillance forge

  • Within banking apps it has become the norm, it shouldn't mean it's acceptable, but for the wider community it is accepted.

But for a fucking forum?? Christ. Especially at a time when Europe are trying to establish digital sovereignty and all of the stories coming out about the US government having access to data. We already know that they are willing to share that with the highest bidder (s).

People would have to be absolute morons to upload anything personal to Reddit, nevermind your photo ID like a passport or driving licence. But obviously that's what they're banking on (people being morons).

  • I must be on my own. I know John Carter flopped phenomenally, but I really liked it. Thought it was a great movie. Was very annoyed when I found out that there may never be a 2nd. Even if there was, at this stage it is very unlikely to be the same cast. IIRC, a lot of the blame was on Disney marketing. But IDK about these things.

  • I think it's just USA. Nowhere else has introduced new tariffs for stuff from Japan to my knowledge.

Edit: Another article that clarifies it is just the US.

    https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-switch-2-preorder-guide-mario-kart-world-bundle/1100-6530531/

Here is the full statement Nintendo sent GameSpot on April 4:

"Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged."

  • It's insane to think that the same two partys remain in control in the US. Yet they call it democracy.

    • I'm referring to the voters, and their lack of action when their main party ha proven useless. The 'swing voters' never seem to swing between anything other than those two.

Any tips to start eating fish?

  • Start copying as many of the top searches that bring people to Reddit. Have them answered here, possibly in more detail, or maybe copy paste.

  • Sorry, I'm lost..

Who are you referring to the was late to the browser wars?

  • A label, in all honesty. Historically they're not left nor right nor middle. They can have ideologies of many, but too long to get into here. I was being pedantic because it's a slight bug of mine when they are labelled and boxed like that. For example Nikolai Bukharin and Alexei Rykov (Bukharinists) and others like Joseph Stalin were not considered left but were communist.

  • I'm being a little pedantic here, but "far left (as in actually communist)" wasn't a thing until these recent online debates and forming groups started putting labels on groups and putting them into boxes. Communists are not necessarily left, nor far left. It feels a bit weird to 'put' them anywhere. That said, I know nothing about hexbear or this little group on Lemmy and how they identify..

  • Affiliate links and coupons should be banned.. Artificially inflating prices so that some users can add a code to get a discount. Huge in antics for years, but growing rapidly in Europe for the last 10.
