  • You have to draw your own lines. For me I dont focus on all the bad choices, I pick something im interested in and then look at the options and try pick the choice I like the most. One thing at a time and before you know it you've made major choices in several areas of daily life.

  • No almost all of that is misconception. Shareholders can sue normal companies and "PBC" for not maximizing shareholder value. PBC are still legally required to cater to shareholders interests. Legal scholars say that PBCs do not provide any protection against shareholders suing and data shows it does not stop profit maximizing behavior. Its pure marketing.

  • You are mentioning things that enshitified it. Radio used to good, I've discovered 1000s of new songs through radio and 1000s of non mainstream artists through discover weekly playlist. The price raising has always been a stain, at first it was so cheap I didnt mind the price going up but its gone to far now. Its so crap now though, barely a music streaming platform.

  • Its been at a pretty consistent 50k which means we retained 25% of the users from our peak. Its 37.5k at the moment with 1.8k on piefed. There is another 18k users once NodeBB federations integrates.

    Its a decent little community, enough to be self sufficient and enough for new users to feel like they arent joining a ghost town.
