  • Let me preface this by saying that I personally would love to clean house at the Supreme Court and prosecutions are long overdue.

With that out of the way, comments like yours make me wonder if it’s bots posting them or if you really do spend that much time on leftist social media. The notion that the progressive left has enough support where anything remotely like a Supreme Court impeachment would happen is delusional. Even if Dems held the majority in the House and 2/3 of the Senate needed to make that happen, the idea that they would be progressive enough to make that happen is crazy.

Not only is it obvious that this country is just as centrist and right leaning as it ever was if you actually go outside, but it’s never been done. There has been one Supreme Court impeachment ever, over 200 years ago, and the Senate failed to convict.

These kinds of comments always increase in frequency around elections. So I’m led to wonder…how much of it is strategic interference to suppress left vote by pushing the narrative that the “blue wave” is big enough without them? How much of it is real people who live in echo chambers? And are those the same people who sat around because there was no way Trump would win in 2016 and 2024?

  • The population of the Chicago metro area (excluding the 2 WI and 2 IN counties that get lumped in) accounts for 66% of the population of the state.

The combined population of the Houston, Dallas, and Austin metro areas only account for 58% of the population of the state.

Not only that, most of Chicagoland is blue, but you cannot say the same for Texas cities where most of the outlying suburbs of the metro area are red.

The population of Houston proper, Dallas proper, and Austin proper combined only make up 15% of the population of Texas. But Chicago proper alone makes up over 21% of the population of Illinois. Throw in Aurora and Naperville to make the 3 city comparison a little more fair, and you get almost 26% of the population of IL.

  • Read the post title and rushed straight to the comments?

  • And every year states and schools lower the bars for what “x-grade level” is so they can meet minimum performance standards and not lose funding. Which circles back around nicely to the point of the OP.

  • That’s not a Trump original. I’m sure it’s been said before that, but it’s a line from The West Wing. The president’s chief of staff makes the comment “To sweep all fifty states, the president would only need to do two things: blow the Sultan's brains out in Times Square, then walk across the street to Nathan's and buy a hot dog.”

  • 0.1% of annual spending is minuscule.

  • You mean the super conservative, etho-nationalist German Empire that also conducted the Herero and Nama genocide, keeping the survivors in concentration camps to use for slave labor and torturous race related medial experiments?

Hitler didn’t convince the Nazi generation to suddenly be Nazis with his compelling oratory. He latched onto a deep rot which had already been present in that society for a long time.

Sounds a little familiar for some reason.

  • There are few things we can do to immediately improve our health in the short term, and add years to our life in the long term, as getting a better nights sleep.

  • Did you mean 46 years earlier instead of 4 to 5 years later?

  • It’s not a dog whistle when its meaning is plainly and purposefully obvious.

  • Since 2015 when it was first posted.

  • I doesn’t matter how dumb the Republican is, the art of the grift is instinctual.

  • Jack Daniels no 7 is crap. Some of their other offerings are fantastic, but they are also more like $70 per bottle.

There is plenty of other whiskey in the same price range as no 7 that isn’t a disgusting mess of sugar and paint thinner. Wild Turkey 101, Buffalo Trace, etc.
