  • Could be we just aren't eating enough uncooked whole, live frogs in our modern diet. Someone has to volunteer to gulp down a few to see if their probiotics cure their cancer, throw some newts in for good measure. If we don't get proof that works at a citizen science level, pharma companies will at best brew the bacteria in a lab and sell it back to us at exorbitant prices. Who will be the next Jonas Salk?

  • (Again)

  • Relatedly, Mankind (Mick Foley) has distanced himself from WWE

  • My big question with older cast iron is had they been used to melt lead down to make bullets? I know it's at least an occasional concern - another reason along with the cleaning issues and having them always smoke up kitchens to happily avoid them. I would refuse one as a gift, even.

  • I'm using a revereware pan that's been with my family for 35 years, lightweight and works very well for my uses. Sure, a heavier one would hold more heat but I've never found myself wanting a different pan. I also have a larger, newer one, a cuisinart pan that is a heavier due to size but nothing compared to cast iron.

  • A good quality stainless set is far superior imho, you can actually keep it clean and dont have to mess around with seasoning it. Also, if you drop it, it won't break your foot and/or flooring. Cast iron is a fad that frankly is already dying out.

  • Not disagreeing with you, water is definitely the best hydration. But other beverages are effective hydrators, even if some have side effects in addition to the taste.

  • Any drink with water in it is hydrating. There are no drinks without water. All drinks hydrate, even coffee.

  • Nah, fuck tourists and tourism generally. Maybe if they didn't wreck where they lived they wouldn't feel the need to come looking to get waited on. Also, fuck economies that rely on tourism, how about some manufacturing or tech industry? Promoting tourism should be last on the list of priorities for any sane locale

  • 2 days before her resignation date she becomes eligible.

  • If you pay with a card inside, just ask for a full tank or round up to whatever you know the vehicle will fit. Everywhere I've visited refunds the remainder automatically to your card without you going back in. Generally, at least in my area any refund is done almost immediately too but you could ask the cashier if you're concerned about the specifics.

  • Are you gonna risk leaving your family behind and being banned from the country to join a union? To protest bad work conditions.

Since this is the tech industry, I'd add, to protest unethical practices towards end users?

  • Prepay inside and you'll never have this issue. You get to chat with a bored cashier as well.

  • These greedy fuckers won’t even loose anything if they payed their workers a healthy wage

They might cry havoc and loose the dogs of war, in an effort to suppress wages

  • Hey dont push it, a Greene-Fuentes ticket probably would beat Newsom-Buttigieg, definitely would win against Harris and whatever cursed soul she picks as a running mate

  • It's not stupidity or cowardice, the dems who voted to reopen are doing this on purpose. Their interests dont align with the well being of the vast majority of Americans.

  • It's not cowardice, its calculated evil.

  • I liked how he wanted to find a cure for stupidity at a genetic level. Misguided but when you consider at the world today, stupidity is ascendant. Lack of education cant explain everything.
