I have opinions. Some of them are terrible. For this I am sorry.

Don't DM me without permission please

  • I rented a movie the other day online that wanted real full fat Google chrome to be able to stream on Linux. I installed it in a sandbox, locked it down right, then promptly uninstalled it 3 hours later when the movie was over. Never again.

Fandango at home, for anyone wondering which service absolutely requires full fat Google chrome

    1. No point in arguing with someone who doesn't care enough to think critically about the situation. If you play chess with a pigeon, the outcome of the game doesn't matter. Its still gonna shit on the board and strut around like it won.
    2. I know you didn't ask, but find you some green spaces. Depression isn't a choice, but choosing to be depressed in a less depressing place is. Control what you can.
  • Nextcloud talk does not support E2E on mobile, web client only. I was just setting it up the other day and was very surprised when I saw this.

  • I enjoyed BROCKHAMPTON for the brief period the group existed. Its some kind of unholy combo between a rap group and a boy band and I love it. I'm pretty sure they're all queer.

Edit: I just realized you said woman. I'm sorry, this whole group is Masc.

  • This is a fantastic approach.

I wanted to learn web-dev so I built a blog and a web hostable 5e character generator. Ended up learning authentication, HTTP stuff, database management, and learned CSS and HTML to handle the frontend (backend is Python).

They're not production ready, there's not even a proper server built in, just a basic wsgi dev server, but I'm proud of it and it taught me a ton!

  • Flash drive are usually Kinda terrible, especially at the Wii's USB2.0 speed. I'd consider an SDXC card. I use a partition on my 512GB SDXC for my games with heavier assets (lol @ heavy wii games, like why?) to improve loading speed. The wii's SD slot is significantly faster than its USB ports.

If you use a big SD like that, you don't need to partition it, I only do that because I also use that card in other consoles and like to keep the data separate.

  • Opinion:

I think bookshelves look better when they're full of books that are clearly being used, rather than a sterile layout that implies those books are nothing more than decor.

  • My ex-partner had her bookshelf sorted with "perfect disorder". No two tall books touching, no two red books touching. As chaotic as a bookshelf could possibly be, with a pointed disregard for series or even genres. 100% vibes Based disorganization.

I hated that fucking shelf. I swear it nearly gave me an aneurism trying to find anything on it.

  • Little emulation powerhouse, I love my Wii.

Jailbroken to hell and back with half of the library on an SSD and all the emulators I want (except xemu, but like, that's a pipe dream the thing isn't that powerful).

I recommend literally everyone who has a wii in their garage or attic, pull it out and spend some time jailbreaking it, the things are really great consoles, bonus points if you have a CRT for it.

  • I guess I wasn't clear when I said the beaniverse said 'fuck me'. I've wasted probably fifteen pounds of dried beans using pressure cookers over the years. They still cronch in the middle.

As I told the other person, I think my Water is too hard and I'm not gonna buy bottled water just to make beans.

Either that or the same temporal anomoly that makes people lost track of time around me also effects bean time.

  • I'm never touching a dry bean again, lentils are where its at nowadays.

I'll keep the baking soda in mind if I ever make another attempt

  • I've never successfully reconstituted beans, its the one thing I've tried I can't cook. I think my water is too hard, I'll simmer them at low temp for literally days in the crock pot and they don't get soft. I've read Guides, I've seen videos, the beaniverse just said fuck this girl in particular.

I get the canned mixed kidney beans and make chili with them. Back before I went vegetarian I'd cook them with some cross-cut ribs and marrow. Nowadays I use minced mushrooms and seitan

  • Lmde7, nvchad set up with some linters and autocompletion.

  • I don't know anything about physics, but the AI that made your image labeled it wrong.

  • Since they added free-form window management.

  • Just an example:

I'm a programming student. In one of my classes we had a simple assignment. Write a simple script to calculate factorials. The purpose of this assignment was to teach recursion. Should be doable in 4-5 lines max, probably less. My coed decided to vibe code his assignment and ended up with a 55 line script. It worked, but it was literally %1100 of the length it needed to be with lots of dead functions and 'None->None(None)' style explicit typing where it just simply wasn't needed.

The code was hilariously obviously AI code.

Edit: I had like 3/4 typos here

  • They used the phrase Jack-In but never Jack-Out

  • As a burner, not an exit device.

  • Pretty sure they could use a cellphone to jack out in Ressurections.
