  • Sorry, no can do. I've never had an Instagram account, a Facebook account, a Bluesky account, a Snapchat account or anything like that.

My entire social media presence is/was a Twitter account that I abandoned even before Elon Musk bought it (because Twitter was turning into a tyre fire even back then), a Reddit account that I abandoned during the great exodus, and a YouTube account that I posted a single video on in 2012. And this, of course.

Also... Are you genuinely using the fact that someone uses Google as evidence that they're a bad person?

  • All that following Charlie Kirk proves is that she clicked a button once. Literally that's the sum total of the evidence.

It's entirely possible that she's not even aware of what her "public perception" from a few internet oddbods even is.

Look, I've been called MAGA in the past and I:

    • A: Am British
    • B: Have literally been on a march to protest Parliament's decision not to ban Donald Trump from the UK (back in 2016)
    • C: Would rather pay 100% tax than have a system that allows billionaires to exist

The internet is full of people who are eager to assume the worst about people. The world is horrible enough - if this woman hasn't actually done or said anything bad, then let's leave her be.

  • Sorry, but this is bad form.

The onus of proof is on you proving she's MAGA, not on her proving she's not.

To do something like this, something she will likely never see, and say that you'll take it down if she proves your theory otherwise, is unfair.

Kudos for the seamless edit, but it's not a cool thing to do.

  • There are definitely a couple of bits of the trailer that are pretty jarring, but the starter Pokémon feel like a welcome return to form - they're clever and distinctive.

The bits that stood out to me as really weird in the trailer:

    • The art style of the drawings changes in the beginning.
    • The arm opening the door seems weirdly realistic.
    • The Pokéball stays in mid air instead of landing on the ground after capturing something.

None of those things reflect on using AI to create the actual game, though.

  • I noticed a lot of the players doing that neck grabbing thing in the World Cup this year.

I get a visceral reaction every time I see it. It'd be a massive red flag if someone tried to do it to me.

Is it a new Andrew Tate/alpha male kind of thing? It's weird and I don't like it.

  • Just talking about my field specifically, but LLM agents are used in educational institutions to support students with both the course and admin sides of things. They're doubly handy because they're also used to collate all of the interactions and identify common blind spots and flag students that are at risk of failing.

  • Two ways to read "a new age verification setup".

    You assume it means:

    a new "age verification" setup

But then find out if means:

    a "new age" verification setup

  • Is this really true? (Answer provided below)

  • I make my bed purely because my wife likes it that way. I'm not bothered either way, but I do it because it's important to her.

She wakes up before I do and goes to bed before I do. I make the bed nice and tidy when I eventually wake up so she has a nice neat bed to climb into at night.

  • Is this just like, free money? Or are there strings attached?

  • In the UK, unless you're self-employed, taxes are just kind of automatic. It just gets handled by your employer.

If you're self-employed, and especially so if you're VAT-registered, it can be a bit fiddly. For most people, however, it's just handled invisibly.

  • Is this a The Thirteenth Warrior reference?

If so, it's literally the first one I've ever encountered in the wild!

  • I used to enjoy Penny Arcade when I was younger and much more into the game space. I still have a couple of Penny Arcade t-shirts in the rotation which have got to be over twenty years old by now!

Back then there was lots going on - starting the Child's Play charity, starting PAX, the whole Jack Thompson saga. Also I got the gaming references in a way that I no longer do...

I dip into the strip now and then, but don't follow it like I used to. The art has gotten really good now, but I do miss the 2005 style.

  • I see four white rectangles there. If that's not proof of snow, then I don't know what to tell you.

  • Yep, second one is the worst by miles. There's lots of cool bits in it, but the overall narrative is a mess. The basilisk is also seriously dodgy-looking in several shots.

The first one is significantly more kiddy than the others, but it's really well-executed.

  • In fairness, this one isn't cropped - the artist didn't include any signature deets. And they've linked to the original artist's post.

That said, I'd also much rather the OP didn't post at all than continue to remove artist credits like they do in other posts.
