  • It was a busy food court in a mall, although not overly loud. She also wasn't what I'd call a soft talker. Not sure what happened, because I'd already been with her for about 20 minutes prior.

    Very embarrassing moment!

  • Once I was out with some friends for lunch and there was one girl I'd never met before who was a friend of one of my other friends.

    I remember we were all just chatting casually as you do and she asked me a question. I didn't hear what she said so I was like "Sorry?". She asked me again. I didn't hear it the second time so I was like "Say again?". She repeated herself a third time. I still didn't hear what she said, so I was like "Sorry, I still didn't get that".

    She repeated herself a FOURTH time and you guessed it, I still didn't catch what she was asking me. So this time I just smiled and nodded and hoped that whatever she had asked me could be answered with just a "Yes" or "No". She just sat back and said "okay.." and gave up. I could tell she was thinking wtf is wrong with this guy.

    Makes me wince to think about even now. I still have absolutely no idea what she was saying that day, and why at that particular moment I couldn't seem to hear her properly.

  • It probably means dominance in terms of how it "won" against piracy by being so difficult to bypass on games that had it that very few people knew how to do it. And even then, it took a lot of time and hard work to the point where some of them gave up.

  • A classmate at school. Spent an entire hour long class poking me in the leg with a sharp pencil under the table. It wasn't funny the first time and it wasn't funny the 100th time. Not to mention the daily abuse and mocking me for what I wore, what I looked like, how I sounded etc.

    Genuinely I regret not taking the pencil that day and jamming it in the fuckers eye. He would have deserved it 100%. There's very few people personally known to me that I've hated. But I really did hate that cunt.

  • Yes, both things have been a large part of my anxiety disorder. It's a strange feeling that's hard to describe.

    Everything seems normal objectively, but there's just this feeling in your own head like you're unable to click with reality, as if there's some kind of veil between you and what you're seeing and hearing. It's pretty uncomfortable when you're in a state of heightened stress.

    When I'm in that state it also has the effect of making me less self-conscious because nothing feels truly real.

  • Lots of interesting stuff for such a small island. I spotted a ruined WW2 Japanese bunker and coastal gun! I also just learned that the island was attacked by the Germans in 1940, which is crazy to me. I didn't know the German navy was operating that far out in the Pacific ocean.
