  • In Germany (if your parents agree) its allowed to drink beer and wine from the age of 14. By 16 you are allowed to buy beer and wine by yourself. By 18 you can buy anything.

    ... So yeah, the first time i got shitfaced i was 13 :|

  • We switched to element (matrix-protocol) a while ago. Until now it worked fine for us - without any real problems. It already got a native voice/video-call implementation. But i heard that selfhosting isnt that smooth

  • I always thought "Engelstrompete" (Brugmansia) gives you the worst.

    In my teenage years some mutual friends tried it. One ran off for a half a day into the forrest with a Garbage Bin Lid and a Wooden Spoon "to fight the dragon". He came back with a scratched face and body but was " sucessful" and happy(?) about somehow.

    Still kinda funny though

    On the other hand I heard stories like hell on earth. Fe something like its Raining Fire and all the other people are zombies. For 3-4 days. And he thought it was all real.

  • Oh wow. I already didnt get the "joke" with her(?) spamming. It seemed a little sleazy to me making fun of her in any way. But now with gore pictures? Disgusting.

    Hopefully its just fake and the person is in good health. If there is a possibility of the pictures beeing real, I would recommend contacting the locals authorities too.

  • Yeah, ist just a meme and nobody likes smart arses. But Struwelpeter isnt a FairyTale. It was kind of a teaching book for bad behaving kids. As far as I rember, the author was part of movement, to modernize education. From our perspective ist seems "a little" harsh for kids, but back then it was really progessive.

    "Grimmschen Märchen" (Grimms Fairytales) on the other hand are the classic German Fairytales. But for most of the stories, many characters in this stories have a comparable or even more fucked up life. Like many other European Fairy Tales (Hans Christian Anders, Russian Fairy Tales, I dunno). ... As long as you take the Original and not the Disney-Version. For Example or spoiler: The little Mermaid isnt living happily ever after :<

  • The German Federal Public Radio (Deutschland Funk) has a Radio Documentary Series, about particular historical Topics called "Der Rest ist Geschichte". Mostly academic experts explain the topics from the academic view for "common" people. They made a interesting one about the History of the Knowledge about the climate crisis.
