Aww, I've seen only a couple fireflies this year, but I guess that's to be expected in a city. I don't generally mind other bugs and spiders, I just relocate them (or turn them into a pancake if it's a mosquito). Just the other day I had to rescue two larger spiders that couldn't climb out of our kitchen sink. I don't like them crawling on me, it's just a lizard brain reflex, but spiders are cool otherwise.
Roaches on the other hand... they're too fast and they only appear if there's something nasty going on. In this case, our ex-neighbor would leave food leftovers on the balcony table to marinate for over a week. She kicked out a rug on the balcony that her cat pissed all over and it stank for well over a week of cat piss. Don't think she ever cleaned that up. She also leaves her cat for weeks alone when she's gone, so I'm gonna assume the place on the inside also gets nasty.
So kind of like Giertz is somehow pronounced Yetch. I can't believe we've been making fun of French only all these years when Swedish is right there. /jk
