  • I think people are reading too much into this. They're changing it to 'Choose Love,' as an obvious shot at the orange-haired man who's never gotten a hug.

  • You really have to wonder what Putin and Russia's role in all of this has been.

Because it feels like us straining our relationships with Canada, the EU / NATO, and pushing BRICS countries further away, benefits them more than anybody else.

And certainly our economic might being sabotaged from within would benefit them and China on the world stage.

Especially when you consider the whole Mexico and Canada tariff saga was mostly just staged chaos that probably was never intended to do anything other than erode our reputation in the international community.

  • Wikler drew the public backing of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other big names like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

To me that's concerning, because everything that has happened the last 20 years to empower the GOP had come at l on the watch of those two.

And I'm not sure either is willing to shake things up enough to truly bring about change.

I'd be interested to hear AOC's thoughts.

  • I'm not sure what is more disconcerting. That the people in charge truly are a bunch of fucking idiots.

Or that those idiots have outplayed and outsmarted the Democrats at damn near every turn for 20+ years.

  • Mr. Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has made comments in line with the new mission statement in conversations with Post journalists in recent years, according to two people familiar with those discussions. Mr. Bezos has expressed hopes that The Post would be read by more blue-collar Americans who live outside coastal cities, mentioning people like firefighters in Cleveland. He has also said that he is interested in expanding The Post’s audience among conservatives, the people said.

Basically it's signposting the further enshitification of the Washington Post.

  • I am now scheduled for deletion.

  • "Listen, I'm evil. I hang out with other people who are evil. So be assured I know what evil is, and Elon is truly evil," said Bannon, probably.

  • Maybe just dox Heritage Foundation members right back ...

  • Not often the top comment has a c-bomb in it. well played and totally on point.

  • I have YouTube TV and only use it for sports.

I'll go one step further and say I haven't watched a new, regular network television show in at least a decade. Who has time to watch 20-something episodes each season - with much of that time spent on fluff story lines that only exist so the show can fill a time slot for 22/23 weeks a year?

    Here's a great example: Lost.

At the time it was amazing. But there was also a lot of unnecessary BS in there because, frankly, they needed to fill time. If you go and look, almost all of the top rated episodes for the series were the last handful of episodes at the end of the season.

Now imagine if they took that show and made 10/13 episode seasons out of it.

I think you could make the same case for most network TV shows. Even if they were amazing at 23 episodes, they'd be even better at 10 or 13.

A great example IMO is Friday Night Lights. Amazing show overall, but that first season was just too long. Then because of a variety of reasons, they moved to 13-15 episodes a season (instead of 23 in season one), and the show excelled.

  • ABC capitulated on the bullshit lawsuit he filed against them, so now he's targeting other organizations.

  • Just when you thought the NY Times' reputation couldn't get any worse this year ...

  • How many times has he used this 'caravan of migrants' baseless claim?

For those scoring at home, Canada, Mexico and China account for 1/3rd of our imports. Such a tariff would have some pretty significant inflationary implications.

The impact this will have on oil and gas alone. 62% of our petroleum imports come from Canada and Mexico. And 70% of our crude oil imports.

  • Back during the Napster days, Howard Stern had the Foo Fighters on. He asked them what their thought of the whole Napster vs. Metallica legal debate.

Dave Grohl told him he was 100 percent for Napster, explaining that they barely made a dime from record sales, and instead made the bulk of their money from touring and t-shirt sales. And that very few musicians were in the same boat as Metallica, actually making money from their album sales.

So from that point of view, the more people who were exposed to their music meant the more folks who might want to go see them in concert.

  • Financial corruption is the entire point.

You have to assume at this point everything is able to be bought, from cabinet positions to getting your nephew a job in whatever agency you'd like.

  • Good. Democrats need to start playing hardball to combat the GOP's anti-democratic antics.

  • I still don't understand why Threads and Instagram are two separate things.

  • I enjoy that they're focusing on 'promoting pirated software and game cheats' before talking about malware first.

Cybersecurity ethusiast Karol Paciorek who spotted the playlist said, "cybercriminals exploit Spotify for malware distribution. Why? Spotify has a strong reputation and its pages are easily indexed by search engines, making it an effective platform to promote malicious links."

That's a very different, more helpful story. "Watch out, Spotify links are being used to distribute malware to your computer."

When abusing platforms, spammers and scammers leave no stone unturned to promote their agenda.

Money. They aren't doing this as part of a 'peons of the world unite to steal software' scheme. They're doing it to generate traffic so they make more ad revenue.

  • Not for nothing, but waiting until the waning days and weeks of your presidency to take a trip to the Amazon and say this feels a little ... lackluster.

And exactly the kind of thing people are grilling the Democrats for after the election. Biden should have been saying this in his first year, not the 11th hour.
