  • Google changed something in android 6 and its been like that ever since, apparently.

  • I really hope he eventually sues, wins, and gets capital B billions. Cause anything less they wont even feel, and Cause they caused him incredible harm, both with the baseless accusations, their inability to back down, and by deleting a decade+ of emails, pictures, contacts, etc etc without warning or an ability to retrieve them.

  • on the flip side, theres the story of the man who, during the height of covid, had his child develop a bad rash in their diaper area

    Doctors requested photos for diagnosis.

Google detected the photo, and called the police on him, calling him a child predator and CSAM producer.

Police said it was a innocent, medically necessary photo.

Doctor said it was an innocent, medically necessary photo.

Google said, no, fuck you, we don't care what the authorities say, you are a child fucking pervert, and we can prove it, and then pointing to a video from 6 months earlier of the mother laying on bed, i think after a bath/shower, unclothed..with the baby on her chest.A completely harmless, beautiful mother/child moment... but google perved out on it so hard they said he and his wife were the pedophiles.

and proceeded to delete his phone number, emails, photos, and everything else he had tied to google.

  • Samsung Galaxy phone, admittedly years ago, cause it made me stop using bluetooth.

But a quick sanity check, to make sure i was remembering correctly, by doing a search for variations of bluetooth cant be used without location on do return results showing that I was not out of my gourd and that it does happen.

  • CEO Mark Zuckerberg remains convinced that smart glasses will eventually replace the smartphone.

Just a regular reminder that facebook has a massive child sex material trade problem, that they've actively done nothing to prevent, but they have called police on reporters reporting on it.

So Zuckerberg wanting his creepnology on every face, in every bathroom, hospital, etc, while he gets a copy of every video, is very much in character

  • Reporting to her masters that their highest ranking asset was lost.

  • I've seen posts all over from people using AI to generate similar photos.

    it can't be ruled out.

Graham happened to fast and unexpectedly for them to weekend at bernies him, but they've had plenty of time to prep for McConnell.

  • I seem to recall something about a story where, like, a kids mom didnt know the camera was remotely turned on and walked through the room naked, after having just gotten out of the shower, and there was some kind of CPS investigation about it?

or is my brain mixing up several different school district voyeur stories together?

  • its exhausting how many times this exact scenario has played out in America.

group 1 aligning with republicans over shared hatred over a third group.

Harm done to third group, group 1 happy as clams.

Republicans turn their eyes to group 1, begins fucking them over in the worst ways possible

    Group 1:

Group 1: Why you do this to us?! we were friends! we worked together! I thought you considered us honorarily white!?

Republicans: You were nothing but a useful tool. Now go die.

  • bluetooth got real fucking creepy once you had to start having location enabled to use it.

  • almost everything.

They are sneaking creepnology into all kinds of things it has no business being.

I'd go back to a Bakelite phone on a fucking land line if I could. As it stands I mostly try to buy older shit, cause not only is it typically better made, its just simple and basic with no extra pointless points of failure.

  • Its almost as if this looksmaxing and other social media shit is a kind of mental illness that gets worse with time. especially when they find an audience that encourages them to go even further off the deep end.

  • about 30 years too late, lol

But thats gonna be one of those things thats gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of my life.

  • My favorite dot matrix memory is printing a like 400 page Breath of Fire 3 strategy guide on a daisy wheel dot matrix, and it took over night to print and everyone in the house complained about the constant ditditditditditditditditdit

edit: And the ribbon was so worn out that you needed forensic equipment to read it, but i persevered.

  • Its probably just much cheaper and easier, unless you absolutely have to have color, to go to good will and get a brother laser printer for like 10 bucks.

I got one years ago and its still on the original toner cart it came with, and I print decently often.

  • I mean.. thats the only way you get into an ambulance.

They aint gonna fuckin loony toons bar bouncer you into the back of the ambulance from 20 feet away.

  • I wish it wasnt that way, Things should not just be repairable, they should be affordably repairable, because thats a major step towards dealing with a disposable society.

  • and lets face it, by the time its out of warranty and old enough to need any kind of easy repair.. the replacement parts are probably gonna cost as much as a newer, much more up to date laptop from another company.

Which is inherently the problem with repair ability in general.

I run into the same problem with cellphones.. I could replace the battery in mine and run it for another 6 years, or I could get a much newer (used) phone for the same price, and end up with a almost 100% new battery AND much better hardware.

but parts will never be made cheap enough to be reasonable and affordable, because people will just buy the parts and assemble the product themselves. So parts have to be at least as expensive as buying the new thing, if not more expensive, to discourage the act itself.

  • Who would have thought a more expensive, more premium product would have a hard time finding customers during a time when people are struggling to pay bills and cant even afford the non-existent dollar menu at mcdonalds anymore.
