  • Your phone is doing it too. TV too, if you have one. Don't forget about your doorbell!

  • The last mile can be 25 mph. That alone will eliminate 99% of traffic deaths, especially if the roads are designed to make it uncomfortable to go above 25 mph.

  • Maybe it matters to some people, but if I'm going to get affordable healthcare through Program A or Program B, I really don't care which it is. Families that are dropped from Medicaid for being above the poverty rate will be able to get almost the exact same thing (honestly, they'll have more options for providers) through Obamacare.

  • I replied to someone else, showing how I am correct. Link.

  • Is what I said false?

  • If you are between 100% & 125% of poverty and in a state that didn't expand Medicaid, you still get nearly free healthcare through Obamacare.

  • Owning things like Pocket is fine as long as each product stands on it's own. Melding them together is what upsets their user base.

  • I know this is going to be unpopular here but I will 100% tell you that there's a lot of people now voting for the GOP because they are upset about pronoun politics. My dad has voted Democrat every election his entire life because he is in a Labor Union. This time him and most of his union buddies voted Trump. My neighbor is hispanic and employs a lot of hispanic contractors. Most of them voted with the GOP because they are upset about how the schools are presenting pronoun policy. There's a lot of this out there. They can agree with the Democrat party in terms of healthcare, taxation, foreign policy, and a whole lot of other things but this one issue really drives at the core of what they think it means to be a human person ... and they don't like it.

  • I could be wrong but my impression was that this is how it already is for goods containing rare earths. That they are already manufactured largely in China and China exports them and that there's no ban on finished products containing rare earths.

  • From what I understand, China's exports of rare earths have been largely a part of finished components and that's not been suspended.

  • If you can influence others to do so, use the better app. My family, we use Briar.

  • I don't think their goal is stability. It is elimination. And the same would be true if the situation reversed. So either that's what eventually happens or a bigger power steps in and rules them like children.

  • One state, immediately in the state of civil war where one side has access to the most money and the best weapons? I gave up on this idea after seeing the effects of this current war. Either one side will eliminate the other or a bigger country will rule both of them as if they are children incapable of running their own lives. Is there a reasonable plan for peace other than these?

  • I'm pretty sure most of those people are dead.

  • What's the solution to lasting peace? Restore rule to the Ottomans or British?

  • It was about the weaponization of the algorithm whereby China could incite Americans to act against the nation in a time of crisis or war.

  • I have a little pull in my group of friends. I've got 11 kids and I make them use Briar (SMS is removed from the phones) and so their friends end-up getting Briar and then their friends' parents have also gotten it. So we have a nice little circle of people using it.
