We have seen the step by step dance into dystopia for decades now. Tech is only improving our society as a side effect of monitoring people or charging more money from people.
I never use leveraged instruments myself, seems super dangerous. Stock market is insanely emotional and goes from greed to fear in days just based on a single news item.
It has to do that to know when you say a keyword like "hey Google". I just wonder what other keywords it's listening to and using to serve ads or profile me as a user.
My car with Google assistant interrupted my conversation with my girlfriend yesterday and started giving me a haiku very loudly for no reason. I guess it was listening and thought we said haiku...
At least it made us laugh. But technology is ridiculous right now. So much shit we don't want or need.
I never bought Tesla stock. It's just hypes and dreams to me. I have a lot of Nvidia though, which is currently going down a lot too. But I will keep holding.
Compared to India or Africa, yes. Countries with higher standard will have access to more different foods, better technology etc etc. I dont feel guilty over that at all. I was born in this location on earth so I just live here normally.
If I'm born in Africa in my next life, I will live a life with whatever resources they have available.
At some point, you realize that ordinary people are not responsible for any of these big "problems" (some doesn't even exist).
Corporations and governments are responsible for all problems we have. They create them with their laws and their greed for power.
But they love telling people to donate money to the problems they cause, or to make us feel guilty for things we have nothing to do with. We should always be in a state of fear and guilt, because that makes us easy to control.
Would make sense, yeah. But different personality traits are attracted to different professions. They just have other issues if it's more of an extrovert profession.
People who are attracted to computers often have emotional baggage. As a kid, I liked computers myself for that reason. I could escape the real world and have fun. The computer would do exactly what I wanted all the time.
Today, you have all kinds of emotionally unstable people using computers. The trans community are very much into computers as well, for the same reasons I did probably. Because it's a safe space when you are different.
And yeah, some people will use their tech skills to cause damage. Others to build something useful.
It's so hard to believe how people put so much money into a completely unknown stock (and with the joker Elon Musk involved in it) on day one. These people are not on their first day as investors but they are sure acting like it.
I think too many kids grew up on social media and believe whatever they read there. Fed by algorithms.
Even though, these guys have so much money so I guess it's adults? It's pretty shocking.
Its because they make money buying whatever goes up, instead of holding selected companies for a long time.
Think about it. You could have made 150% by holding micron for three months. Big tech companies take five years to make that much. So that's why these investors have to jump on the bandwagon no matter what the fundamentals are.
They also sell as soon as it starts to show weakness, which is why micron dropped 30% in like 3 days.
I think they don't know how to be anything else. Probably grew up with parents like that and had no other role models.
