Looking for an alternative to reddit

  • I have always hated most of my managers too. I think they are all psychopaths. Totally relate to how you feel.

There is a reason we call these people npcs. They seemingly are missing some important parts in their brains or heart.

  • They are providing nothing people actually need, and they destroy the environment and cause harm to animals and humans with their noise and vibrations.

Also massive water and energy requirements that drives up the prices for every human.

These things would be banned in a society where we cared about people over profits.

  • I dont think we should have a society full of threats and then blame the parents when they don't predict and protect their kids from it.

Its better to not have the threats. Specially since these kind of threats are for profit and it's their business model.

  • This is like strait of hormuz now

  • We could have been so rich if we could have seen the future. Just buy tons of memory modules at low prices five years ago and sell them now. What a profit.

Its not like memory tech has changed so much either.

  • I really don't want to see that. People are strange.

  • Do I want more memory or do I wait for two years...

I wait for two years. As long as the existing memory modules doesn't break, Linux will continue to be happy with existing amount.

If you are on windows, good luck.

  • It's a good post, I agree with it. And I guess The Pale is a good description of what we are noticing.

I got to experience the internet before it became like this, so at least I have memories of greatness. But the desire for great profits ruins everything. Not only the internet but the world.

Greed for excessive amounts of money is the root of evil, the bible got that right. But humans are not aware enough to see a future where greed is not the driving force of society.

  • Well, i checked. From the top 1000 websites in the world, cloudflare is fronting 55% of them.

Same with top 10000 websites, 55%.

    Top 100000 websites, 52%.

    All measured websites, 29%.

I think this is telling a different story than small sites using free cloudflare services. The 20% that cloudflare says is most similar to "all measured websites" where tons of small ones are included.

  • What matters is really how many of the most popular web sites are behind it. The large massive ones with lots of traffic are likely to use it.

  • A great idea for the entire world to use github for all their code and cloudflare for all their web sites. Some great thinking right there.

  • There are so many psychos in America, hard to pick one. I would rather send Sam Altman a message, I believe he is the sickest of all of them.

  • That's truly insane, 20 dollars.... Wtf.

I guess they rely on the truly stupid and lazy to pay those prices.

  • PC upgrades of course, but also I refuse to pay for a coffee out these days. Sometimes I do it if I'm with someone but never alone. It's very expensive.

Also burgers out, I never buy them, but also because they are not very good and the price is ridiculous. Last time I checked, Burger King double whopper menu was 14 dollars in my country. Probably more expensive now.

  • Awful when db has problems. The stress level of the admin must be through the roof.

    It will be OK.

  • Actually thank you for correcting me on spelling. I have a few words still where I have a bad habit of writing them wrong... :)

    Recipes is shorter too, good.

  • I have kagi but didn't know about their recepies. Will check it out :)

And I dont worry about downvotes. I will write what I feel even if it's not popular. :)

  • That's true actually. People will tell you what they really think here. And if you use that to challange your views, then maybe you can learn from it.
