  • God fucking damn it. I was so excited for stuff like this to come out so I could finally have a real life HUD, maybe a Crazy Taxi arrow showing the direction I should be heading, and of course it turns into a weaponised dystopia product before I can even begin to afford one.

    If everywhere else already has authentic chippies then its fairly dead already. I don't know if they do or don't without doing the traveling that that career was going to provide though.

  • Not really, but also kind of all the time. I'm mostly here for memes and shitposts, just as a kind of substitute for actually having friends, and its doing that pretty well.

    Nothing truly productive or useful, in the sense of somethings changed my beliefs for the better, or I feel ive made a positive contribution. Its been pretty negative in that sense, as the politically minded people online will jump at you if they suspect wrongthink, so ive learned to just avoid them as much as I can help.

    This place is mostly doing exactly what I want it to most of the time though so its good.

    To anyone whos been to both places can you get "proper" fish n chips the world over? I've asked a few americans on xbox a few times and they tell me that its "fish and steak fries" and its basically the same thing, but it doesnt sound like it will be the same.

    Chippy chips are a very specific thing and its incredibly difficult to explain that to someone who hasn't experienced it and just understands.

  • Maybe could be interesting to get an AI to create a prompt for another AI, and send that prompt down the line like Chinese whispers.

    Edit : or maybe it wouldn't be. I havent used LLMs and such for about 5 years. I was fascinated at first and played with them for about 2 days getting them to write limerick and shit, but the novelty wore off fast.

  • My paper route is part of my origin story. There was a house with an absurdly steep driveway and no steps. Iced over one day, physically couldnt get up it. Tried for about 10 minutes getting run ups and kept sliding back down in the road and getting scraped up. Ended up leaving it on the car. Got back to the shop an hour later and they'd already phoned to complain and got a refund and I got a bollocking.
