I dont know if my school even has them. I wont be going anyway even if i find out they do. Theres only a handful of people I'd want to see and they've got just as much Internet access as me. If there was anything worth talking to eachother for we would have done it by now. I don't want to force stuff and have it be weird.
And the majority that I really don't want to see I guarantee are all "doing better" than me. It turns out being smart and getting good grades doesnt mean shit if your dad isnt already a big wheel at the cracker factory.
I pretty much believe the wage gap is nonsense. Maybe at higher levels, or in freelance work or something, but I worked service jobs most of my life and the girls got bigger raises simply for being attractive girls, and most of my bosses have been women. The debate only ever seems to start up to rile people up against eachother. I always feel like pic related when it comes up.
Edit : maybe they account globally, including weird countries where women aren't allowed to work and also including Elon Musk in that figure? The stats can be played with so much to paint whatever narrative you want.
Also the 20% of people committing 80% of crime. I'd never heard that until now but the 80/20 thing comes up so often that it immediately rings true. I'm not in any way invested in criminal activity though so I'm not sure what I would be expected to do with that belief.
UK, 2008ish was a pain in the ass for me. Just entering the workforce, got my first job at mcdonalds. Got in just before it all went to shit. Seriously psychologically abusive time. Managers treated you like shit and you had to lick their arses because they could fire you for anything and there were thousands of people lining up for your job. I became a shift manager and I had ex-lawyers and fully trained vets cleaning out the grease traps.
Slightly related, but my wife won't watch horror films because ghosts and zombies and shit are too scary for her.
She loves watching true-life documentaries about unsolved cases of people who just vanish and theres not even any evidence that they're dead. Just gone. Which is infinitely scarier to me than any knife-clown or ghost-botherers
