  • Until the last cell, yes. It's unthinkable that a guy with this level of discernment will only ever see outfits he likes on people whom they belong.

  • At least constructive criticism mixed with supportive encouragement is better than cat-calling.

  • Normally I'd be opposed to this kind of fascistic overreach, but... Billy Joel really is beyond the pale.

  • Yes, it's a pity the last term is occluded. We might have solved cat-faces for ever if not for that blunder.

  • Nice idea. There's plenty of potential energy storage concepts, but this looks cheaper than most of them, and it's convenient to be able to holistically deploy them in conjunction with off-shore windmill parks or use them instead of land-based solutions that'd take up footprint that could be put to other use.

  • Yeah, the post made that perfectly clear. I just have no interest in doing so.

  • Sure, but forget 50 kiloyears. Just considering the events of the last century is sufficient to make me marvel that we haven't sterilized ourselves -- and the rest of the planet. But, as you say, it's early days yet. I'm sure we'll manage to irrevocably cock it up any moment now.

  • Thanks. I guess there's nothing for it but to venture deep into the woods at night, alone and carrying only a high-power laser pointer and a large sign reading "for the love of everything pure and good, abduct me!"

  • Yeah, I'm going to have to remember that one.

  • I tend to wake up every morning amazed that: A) We're generally still here and B) I'm specifically still here. Then the disappointment hits.

  • Damn. It's like watching meme'd videos with humorously wrong subtitles when you actually speak the language used in the clip. I just can't ignore what's actually on the blackboard.

  • Yes, I suppose I could, but it's just not the same, you know? Sure, perhaps the thermalization of the chaotic flaming furnace of a big crunch will ensure all remnants of the prior Universal state is eradicated just as effectively as the cold uniform isotropic order of heat death, but a big crunch harbors the hope of a new cyclic beginning. Before you know it, you're veering into Penrose-ish optimism about the whole thing, and how's that going to keep anybody awake all night shivering in horror?

  • Don't be too hard on yourself. Unlike Vance, I'm sure you only did one of those things and learned from your mistake.

Which is why he's the Vice President of the United States of America and you... No wait. That can't be right.

    ...Fuck.
