  • Is it possible to somehow be worse than MTG by being a totally consistent dipstick? Yes, albeit by a fairly slim margin. In the current political climate, is that likely to actually happen despite the low odds? Also yes. Do I think that's a good argument in putting up with that knuckle dragging yahoo being a publicly elected official? Eeh. Not too sure about that one.

  • Only one of those two terms should be enclosed by scare quotes, and it's not 'fascist'.

  • It says a lot that I'm not absolutely certain you're joking about that.

  • I guess that's one way to make people give up cars in favor of public transportation.

  • Based on user feedback, we have added support for uninstalling Store-managed apps from the Store’s library page.

They needed user feedback to help them figure out that an app that installs software should also be able to uninstall it?

    Amazing.

  • Hm, yeah. I suppose there's that.

  • Well, if the past decade should have taught us all one thing, it is that there's no particular correlation between accrued wealth and intelligence. Privilege, luck and ruthlessness seems to have more to do with it.

  • Good news? My, that's rare these days.

  • For a man with his influence and income levels, you'd think he would at least be educated enough to do proper SPaG - or at least cunning enough to hire a ghost writer to fake it for him. The pedophilic nitwit could at least have used the built-in spell checker!

It's beyond me how a man with his communication skills - such as they are - ever got taken seriously by anyone in the first place. I guess I need to lower my expectations further.

  • But matrix multiplication, to which our civilization is now devoting so many of its marginal resources, has all the elegance of a man hammering a nail into a board. It is possessed of neither beauty nor symmetry.

"Mr. Witt. You're expected back in Linear Algebra 101 tomorrow at 8am sharp. Don't be late. We will come and get you, and if that happens you will not like it."

  • It did however produce four awkwardly conceived children of rather mixed heritage and inconsistent religious convictions.

  • I honestly can't tell if this actually involves baked goods or not, but if everyone is having a great time, I guess it doesn't matter.

  • Automatic failure handling, advanced logging, independent execution environment control, cgroups support, service dependency management...

On the negative side, it takes slightly more work to configure timed tasks and there's no integrated email support.

Refer to the Arch Wiki for more detailed information.

  • Well, for starters I have no idea what it is. Maybe you could explain?

  • Jesus Christ, people are fucking stupid.

  • Probably best to keep your distance from that vehicle.

  • Someone's really working hard to justify that funding.

  • The usual suspect in this scenario is crappy USB devices, hubs in particular. Unplugging all USB devices and rebooting to check the difference is always a solid and easy first diagnostic step. If that turns out to be the issue you can add them back piecemeal to isolate the offender(s).

  • What the hell kind of hardware are you running, son? Is your system waiting for the superconducting magnets of your particle accelerator to cool? Is your 400 lbs Honeywell tape drive running self-assessment tests? Is the communications array realigning to restore the connection to your hidden villainous moon base? What is taking fourteen seconds?

  • "Your honor, social media is dead and the notion that Meta is some sort of voracious global monopoly is clearly counter-indicated by its 1.49 trillion dollar market cap."

    "All right. You've convinced me."
