  • I trained a series of human neurons to play doom when I was 7. They really need to step it up.

  • LoL... Career path. I worked on a farm and it wasn't mine. I'm pretty certain I can't afford a farm.

I do appreciate your optimism and advocacy on solar farming. A house with a roof full of solar is all I really wanted. I'd like a few panels that I an plug in for my patio. The technology in the article is right up my alley.

  • Thanks. I may have more questions.

  • I would stop at buying a house. I worked on a farm. I now work with computers. It is on purpose.

  • I'm really interested in this technology. I can't get a roof solar installation. I want a add a few panels but I don't know where to practically start.

  • Given the ram apocalypse, I think you’ll see many entry level pcs with 8gb as well.

Apple is either just that good or just that lucky that they are shipping an 8gb machine right after ram prices went parabolic.

At any other time this would be a harder item to sell.

  • They have had an ‘affordable’ Mac for a lot of their history. The Mac mini was a downright value for a while. They have had near $1000 laptops for most of my memory.

  • It's always great to see how the EU handles IP and large companies compared to the US.

If the articles series of events and statements are true I wonder if the hackers will win. The company initiating the lock initially created a state where un-serviced trains locked up. It seems a straightforward case of bug fixing that is allowed in EU law.

  • Lto tape. But I only have 15tb

It quickly becomes cost effective when you actually need the data to be safe. Far easier to have off site backups. I have never had a problem , but I like to have offline backup. Most of the time my data is static. So I am only backing up projects files ans changes for the most part.

If you have 40+ tb of dynamic data I can’t help there.

Edit: I buy used drives that are usually 2 generations old, so I got lto-5 drives when lto 7 was new. The used drives may be less reliable but used drives can be 1/10th the price of the newest ones.

  • Think of it like the skin of a 3d shape sliced apart and stretched over a 2d plane, because that it what you are looking at.

The space is continuous in 3d.

The plot you show changes as you change the ratios of l,c,h

When you click the ‘show 3d’ button you can see the cut out areas correspond to colors that are not on the surface of the color volume.

  • Plasma TV's while desired were not popular. I'm still using mine, but I was the only one who had one.

  • Start with something you really like to eat. You like it so much you can tolerate it if it’s only ok.

    Start making that repetitively.

That’s what will become your ‘go to’ recipe.

After a few dozen times you’ll start to get some nuance in how you make it. You’ll understand the heat, timing and seasonings.

From there you start on a second recipe that may need a new technique.

So for instance , roast chicken.

Tasty, cheap and can be served a few different ways over a week.

I used the joy of cooking, though later began to like the American test kitchen books for their detailed explanations of each part of the dish and what goes wrong.

Honestly being forced to cook everything you eat really ups your skills.

Stay away from dishes that need special equipment. Deep Fried food are pretty hard to learn and expensive as a beginner. You can get most cooking equipment from a Salvation Army/goodwill to start.

I like cook books since you can write yourself notes in them as to what you tried and if it was a good idea. If you find a recipe online print it out and keep it.

  • Electric is certainly a challenge when coming from a gas burner. You need to be more patient with it.

It takes longer to come to heat and longer to cool down. It sounds like your pan it too hot when cooking eggs. It’s gonna take you some practice to know when the right burner point is and how long it takes your pan to heat up.

I can’t give you advice on a specific non-stick pan though. I use stainless steel but on gas. It takes 5-10 min to reach an even heat over the whole pan. Once the whole pan reaches heat just a little oil keeps eggs from sticking.

  • What are the "zones?" are these like the cardio heart rate zones?

  • That guy is literally the criminal element that the Republicans have been speaking out about for years. It sounds like he should be spending some time in jail before being deported. Luckily he admitted his crime in public and on the record so a case against him should go even smoother than a regular one.

  • That is what I was getting out without trying to use the loaded words.
