  • Mostly financially. Related to hiusing. I don't really wanna get into more details, but I'm essential stuck with my current living situation for the rest of my life, unless I'm willing to lose tens of thousands of dollars (or even more if I try to improve the place I'm currently at instead of cutting my losses and moving at an already big loss). Pressure to secure stable housing for an eventual old age made me make tough decisions that in hindsight were pretty fucking ill-advised.

    • The tiny particles likely come from particle resuspension around Direct Current Fast Charging power cabinets. Cooling fans designed to prevent the electronics from overheating can also stir up dust and particles from internal surfaces.

    a) that doesn't really sound like the fault of EVs or the charging stations themselves. Any sort of very moderate air current would cause the same problem.

    b) that sounds pretty easy to fix with some filters simple pleated filters, and that would leave the surrounding environment cleaner than they used to be.

  • DSub2000 is on Fdroid as well. Subsonic doesn't change, but android does. DSub isn't built for recent Android's and as such FDroid won't automatically update it. And some stuff might get increasingly wonky/broken due to API and SDK changes.

  • Foe Apple II? No, it runs on Macintoshes not Apple machines (other than the IIgs but that's kind of an odd ball). It was developed until the mid 2000s.

    "visual programming" I would also say isn't quite correct. The programming was textual, using a Hyper Talk based language (based on Small Talk). But it interacted with visual objects. Kinda like Flash (which was also Hyper Talk based if memory serves).

  • I'll have to try DSub(2000), looks pretty nice. I've been using Ultrasonic. I do like that Ultrasonic allows you to browse cached files as if they were their own server, which DSub doesn't seem to do.
