Sure, it looks great. But it doesn't have the popularity of Matrix, which is already less popular than XMPP which has enjoyed decent adoption since it's inception.
Centralized. Not good. Conversations is on fdroid and is decentralized, federated, open source and uses a mature and battle tested protocol (XMPP). If I wanted something new, I would prefer Matrix over Signal.
Honestly, I think Matrix would be a better fit and be actually useable. A good alternative would be XMPP. They both should work great for the use case, both are FOSS and federated.
I'm actually interested in installing Coolify and trying Postiz, I might go for the hosted cloud plan for work stuff. I pay for a lot of free software, I appreciate the pro support but I like to know that if you make bad decisions like going closed source or rising the price by %500, I can still operate self hosted until I switch to an alternative or a fork. This hasn't happened with anything I pay for yet, but it has happened to software I don't use. So I like to be safe and have a plan B just in case.
The selfhosted photo management boom happened when Google announced paid plans for Google Photos. That's why there are lots of alternatives aiming at replicating every feature.
In my case, I don't want to manually tag anything. I want a FOSS Google Photos. Nothing more, nothing else. If Immich was orosuction ready I would have akready switched. I haven't read much about Ente, but I have no interest in the rest because they lack some key feature I really appreciate.
Currently there is no voice or video support in any Spacebar instance. This is a very difficult feature to get working, especially given that we must implement it the exact same way as Discord.com for client compatibility. We would be incredibly thankful for any assistance.
