  • I don't know where exactly she worked or what she worked on. I know he was well paid and said "I'm not the breadwinner in the family, my wife makes atleast 3 times what I do".

  • Situations like this I always wonder what would happen if you lost your phone mid day. Say it fell in the rain gutter during lunch, do you just take the rest of the day off? Sorry boss I'm locked out of my office till Wednesday when my new phone should arrive...

  • I used to work with this guy whose wife had some restricted job. I asked what she did and was told all he could tell me was "she has a double master in microbiology and virology and gets paid by the cdc" this was about 2012.

Due to this and associated "security" risk his kids were put into a "secure" daycare. To pick them up he had to present a photo id, finger print scan, and retina scan.

  • True but giving a phone number often gives discounts... Giving a fake number like 867-5309 doesn't compromise your privacy at all.

  • Also true

  • If your a professional archer, just blame Lana for everything

  • As I said repeatedly, if a store asks for a phone number for a rewards number, use this with the local area code. You will be surprised how often it works.

  • I'd only ask trick questions if I was getting into magic...

  • I'm getting into woodworking, do you have any books on shelves?

  • It's ok, you can still clothes shoppi

  • Take your design, make 100 of them , input on right, output on left, make users sign waivers cause it might be dangerous...

  • Interesting and if purely gravity fed would be safe during working hours and could scale horizontally. The only problem I see is confirming all balls were cleaned and not like the same 20 balls cleaned 20 times a day...

Wait just had a great/horrible idea... Wave pool of balls in a ball pit. Suck balls on one side, shoot balls out other side. The balls are constantly washed and returned but creates a wave/swimming like sensation

  • That would work too but still need to move the balls around so you don't only get the top layer.

  • It would be very expensive and such impractical but I could see some sort of automated cleaning. Like you close for the day and before walking out you hit some button, warm/hot water is spayed from ceiling and posts come up from below and spin causing agitation of the balls. This lasts for say 30 minutes(would need testing). From then on water stops but posts keep moving and hot air is blown for say 6 hours. That should be sufficient to kill/wash away most bacteria, similar to your dishwasher but longer time due to amount of balls and lower temp to protect the balls.

There's some safety concerns(don't want to start wash cycle will kid still in) so maybe enter a code vs just a button. You can accidently hit a button. If you accidentally hit 97531 I have questions about your mental health. If you don't notice a kid is still in there at end of night, you were about to lock them in for the night anyways so you likely have procedures to confirm that anyways.

  • True, but serving families of kids with serious medical issues is worth it in my opinion.

  • If you liked that check out life at reset/new era online. Large guild leader is betrayed and turned into a goblin. Things get a weird then after the mid point of the series things get even weirder. I've read a lot of litrpg and it's unique in my opinion.

It is kinda long though, it's 6 books but it is complete now.

  • Except the rondald McDonald's house. That's a seperate foundation and is really beneficial.

If you don't know they supply housing to families near major hospitals if the family needs to travel far for specialty care.

  • That's possible but I never encountered it

  • I worked for several years in gmi(gross margin improvement), basically cost cutting. People are cheap. In general most workers are 60k-100k total compensation. The best ways were 1. Cut time per product made, make it quicker to make your product so you can make more. 2. Decrease downtime, both periodic maintenance and unexpected issues 3. In house vs outsource stuff. You need some plastic piece, it might be cheaper to outsource if you don't have the machines and expertise to do it well. 4. Increase yield and monitor yield.

None of this involves cutting jobs. Most will give higher return in savings than cutting jobs.

For example we had a process that had a 87% yield. We got new fixtures for about $50k. Yield went to 99%. Saved just under a million per year. Same jobs, no one was let go. The only downside to the workers was by increasing yield, with similar quantity required, there was less need for overtime and some people like that for the extra money. But also additional savings for company which we were not allowed to claim credit for.

People over estimate the cost of workers in total cost of product.
