  • Yeah but then I don't get to make Microsoft spend money...

  • Do you know of anything that does this? I'm kinda tempted to sketch out a plan to do it myself but I already have a totally different project I'm working on and struggling with.

  • One thing I wish one of the grocery list apps could do was to store recipes, then you choose which recipes you want that day/week/month whenever you go shopping, it's smart enough to know if 3 recipes need flour only put flour on once, then go through and mark ingredients you already have.

Like I can put in a recipe for penne alla vodka or fettuccine alfrado then if I select penne alla vodka it adds : Penne pasta Vodka sauce Heavy cream Mozzarella cheese Parmesan cheese Sausage

Etc to the list. Then I say actually I already have heavy cream and mark it as not needed.

  • I've been considering just making a spam email vs my regular email. I know there are "temporary" email services but they don't always apply. For example you are at a store and the say "you get a 5% if you give your email" and you want to use one of those one time emails what are you supposed to do? Stand there, take out your phone, "one sec, let me just spin up a email address to give you".

Thinking of just creating a email account on say hotmail(just for the lols) and direct everything likely to spam me there. There is the argument "they will still track you and sell your data to advertisers who will send spam to that account". Yeah but 1.why do I care if I never check the account? 2. If I use Hotmail all it will do is cause increase cost to Microsoft so double win?

  • You are sorta right but missing the idea of inheritance. A man in Kentucky with enough resources to move probably didn't live in a trailer park or likely didn't go to public school. He was raised with a tutor and in "that house" in the town.

Moving doesn't make you a better person but if you have the means your child is not growing up in that culture, maybe Kentucky but not in a trailer...

  • How old is old? Recommendations for 85+ is different then if your in hs and asking about your 40 year old father...

  • Makes you wonder if the Japanese "rent-a-friend" service might actually be a good idea. Ok, need a different name but...

  • I have no experience or first hand knowledge of this but I saw a video with prostitutes being interviewed years ago. They said a depressingly large amount of people hired them just to talk and converse. No sex. Just talking like a good friend because the person hiring them didn't have any. They just wanted someone to be their friend. It was really sad.

I just remembered one of the stories where the girl said one of the guys was a early 50s man who was sometype of manager. He would hire her about every other week. They would go to a dinner and just talk about random stuff for an hour or two over coffee and some light food. She said he previously had a wife who died during child birth(daughter also died) and he couldn't bring himself to be with another woman because he loved his wife so much. He stopped calling her and after about 2 months she tried asking around if anyone had seen him. It turned out he took his own life. She started crying in the video because she couldn't go to funeral as it was several weeks earlier and wished she could have said good bye to him.

  • In my last company we used a system called windchill. Technically they had folders. Previously we used a different system. But when we switched to windchill no one had time to actually sort and organize the tens of thousands of documents. As a result everything just got dropped in the root folder.

To make it worse there was no enforced naming scheme... Plan for... Thing's plan.... Protocol for execution of thing... Ip of thing.... Thing's up... Protocol of thing.... Plan of thing... All valid. And in 5 years when your 3rd replacement is trying to find it... Alcoholism is a serious disorder

  • A big thing is don't buy junk food. Its much easier to not buy that bag of chips then to resist eating them at 2am...

  • I agree but I find it even more rediculous that they think women consider having children and are like... Financially, ok... Housing, ok...schools, ok... Airport feeding rooms with outdated decor, never mind I'm going back on the pill

  • Yeah, I was referencing a press conference by some gop members in I think it was Chicago airport where one stated that we should renovate the feeding rooms to fix the birth rate.

  • Actually based on the press conference the other day birth rates are down because... Airport breastfeeding spaces need to be renovated!

  • Wait... While this is horrible... How did LG say anything in a January announcement when it's still December?

  • Wouldn't be surprised if she put him on "hold" to "check" on something and just used it as a quick bathroom break.

He was on the phone for the whole time, most of it on the balcony and I would go out to smoke and over hear him but I didn't watch the whole time.

  • Yeah effectively using comments as psuedocode
