    It is wrong to record someone having sex without their consent. There's no amount of learning to operate differently that's going to change my mind on this and it shouldn't.

    Why are you so insistent that I'm in the wrong on this? Who are you recording having sex without their knowledge?

  • The 2010s definitely had a lot of missteps and over-corrections when it came to pulling the country more left and it's a shame. It's led to statements from politicians like AOC saying things like "woke 1.0 is dead" and similar and that's really understandable. There should be more grace and education in leftists spaces for sure.

    Then there's some topics, like recording people having sex without consent, that I thought was a pretty agreed upon crossed line. I thought consent was something we all agreed should be respected more in our society and our country. So coming on people willing to play devil's advocate for knowingly recording someone without their consent blew my mind with FishFace and other users here yesterday.

    So yeah, I clash with some people like FishFace that are willing to "both sides" topics that don't need it because it's really frustrating and offensive. Add in that I've got ADHD justice sensitivity and I can be real stubborn about topics like these.

    I'm not everyone's cup of tea and that's ok shrug

  • Neither is pushing that I’m the unreasonable one for having a staunchly held belief that no one has the right to record another having sex without their consent. But here you are editing your comments and still trying to argue with me without having me reply.

    If you’re embarrassed about trying to justify recording people having sex without their consent, then don’t engage in debates trying to defend it.

    I honest to god was going to leave the conversation there yesterday and then stumbled on your admission that you enjoy doing “both sides” arguments and sometimes it pisses people off. This is perfectly in line with the topic of this post.

    If you don’t want others remembering conversations where you tried to “both sides” recording people having sex without their consent, then don’t engage in that kind of debate.

    Those conversations don’t live in isolation and the people you converse with don’t disappear from the internet the next day.

    This isn't a conversation built on mutual respect with how you're framing women here through history. I have no obligation to meet men at this level when they're trying to "logic" their way to discrediting women.

  • No, the entire comment on it's own is correct. Most content on social media is from people sharing, linking, commenting on, or remixing content found somewhere else.

    The comment doesn't say anything about quality vs quantity. They're only talking about the state of social media and how it is built up.

    My personal opinion on sanitation's contributions is that a lot of it is spam. I'd prefer to have people manually reposting instead of this bot-like action of reposting a lot of stuff automatically, it can make communities feel empty. But all of that is aside from the comment I replied to which is ultimately correct about social media.
