  • What is a charity?I mean, like most people I just think of organizations that help the homeless, poor families, starving children, etc...

For me the scam risk is too high, and anyway, that's where most people donate money, both because it engages a lot of emotion.

But I do donate elsewhere, mostly FOSS projects like KDE and individual developers like for example Deluan Quintao (developer of Navidrome server).Though I also donate to some local more standard-like places. Those are ochranma hotline - portal in INHOPE network for reporting illegal online content including CSAM; IPcko - crisis intervention helpline (psychological help) with physical offices as well (unpaid of course) and a mobile crisis team, as far as I know they're underpaid (a quick search shows they had to fire 17 psychologists in 2024); and lastly Municia pre Ukrajinu - money for purchase of ammunition for Ukraine in collaboration with Czech Republic, as the Slovakian government refused to aid them

Anyway, all of it is just little bits, I can't afford to donate any meaningful amount.Full list:Linux Mint -TeamSeas -Manjaro -OpenCollective tips -Tor Project -Internet Archive (archive.org) -The Document Foundation (LibreOffice) -Arch Linux -KDE -Mozilla -F-Droid -Termux -db0 Lemmy instance (lemmy.dbzer0.com) -Arne Schwabe (dev of Android OVPN client) -Deluan Quintao (dev of Navidrome server) -Arty Bishop (dev of Look4Sat) -sc07 (Fediverse Canvas creator) -IPcko -Markus Fisch (dev of Binary Eye) -VideoLAN -ochranma.sk -Meshtastic -Kiwix -Municia pre Ukrajinu -FFmpeg -IzzyOnDroid -Lemmy -Catbox.moe -

  • Aside from being able to harm small wildlife like hedgehogs, squirrels, snakes etc.

Well, that's enough of a reason.

  • Yeah, no way I'd leave something like that running unsupervised.I don't even feel good leaving batteries charging without me near.

  • I don't want to make a separate comment since I am also not from US, but damn, this sounds overblown to me. Especially for someone who's just related to your friend. And especially from a student, since students are generally quite poor.

  • I don't use it, but Slovak QWERTZ is the standard in my country. But using it feels like a pain in the ass (for me). Some characters need ctrl+alt rather than just shift, others may only be written with alt codes, at least on Windows...

Part of my graduation exam was literally to just type \ % @ & on a computer. Thankfully for me, settings wasn't blocked, so I just added US layout.

If I need some slovak characters I do either one of the following:

    1. Say "fuck it" and write it without diacritics ("like SMS")
    2. If needed in forms, use KCharSelect
    3. Smartphone virtual keyboard
    4. Like 1 but printed on paper with diacritics added using a pen
    5. Write it in English even if I am not supposed to and wait for the outcome
    6. Write it in English, pipe it to Google Translate (I find writing in English mostly easier anyway - doesn't mean I am good at it)
    7. Write it in English, (attempt to) translate it myself
    8. Good ol' pen 'n paper all the way (I mean, I've got a fountain pen too)
  • Where did you hear that?So far I've only heard about teaching kids how to use it as a tool rather than trusting everything it says, or even replacing a human. And I'd agree on that. Too many people (by far not just kids) take what ChatGPT, Gemini and chatbots alike say for granted.

  • There is no deal on the table I think that they will want me on it for at least another 2 years before release is considered

OK, 2 years or 6 years then?Anyway, your legal team has said there is a chance. Only one way to find out.

Really, what are you going to loose? Excessive sex drive?

  • Well, I can't directly answer yes/no. I think that refusal should lead to more restrictions on your freedom. I don't mean this as a punishment, but more so as a protection measure, of others. You need to understand that you are currently unsafe as-is, and try to work on fixing that.

Searching about the specific drug (for risk assessment), hard to tell for me. I am not a medical doctor. I don't even know the dosage and length of treatment (in case it's not long-term).It does seem like one of the riskier drugs, but do they outweigh the other risks? It also seems to be commonly used by MtF trans people (it's a T blocker, so it makes sense). If the risks are worth it in those cases, I'd wager it's worth in yours too.

    And from Wikipedia:

In addition, it has been found to decrease the rate of reoffending in sex offenders from 85% to 6%, with most of the reoffenses being committed by individuals who did not follow their CPA treatment prescription.

    Sounds effective.

I encourage you to go ahead with it. If that attraction/desire is so strong that you cannot control it yourself, this will most likely help you feel better too. At least that sounds logical.Plus you should obviously get some psychological help too, not just meds. You can't really loose anything by going to therapies, except for a few minutes of time.

Unfortunately, you can't fix the past, but you can work on the future. You won't seem weak by trying to get help, quite the contrary. Don't bullshit others and yourself with excuses. So please, do go ahead with the treatment. It's not just for others, it's not just for you, but for both.

Also, maybe it would help if you read or listened to some stories of survivors, and try to imagine yourself on the victim side instead, to build some empathy. You didn't steal someone's wallet, sexual abuse creates lifelong trauma.

Again, I am not MD, psychologist or even some good writer, but it sounds like a good choice from the options you currently have.

  • The other way around you get √

(I can't even draw simple stuff...)

  • I often see people reply in other languages, even under English posts (usually in German over here).

  • aheada head

  • Thankfully, the DSM-V and ICD-11 remove mutual exclusivity of capitalism and authoritarianism as studies show link between both. Subsequent research has shown high comorbidity of the two.

  • I wondered how the hell it managed to fool LIDAR, well...

The stunt was meant to demonstrate the shortcomings of relying entirely on cameras — rather than the LIDAR and radar systems used by brands and autonomous vehicle makers other than Tesla.

  • They even have Android app. I mean, a server app.Anyway, they still seem to paywall some things.

  • Downvote this to demonstrate. You can also enable upvote % in user settings.

  • Your title is missing s in news.

  • My only use case would be selling it.

  • Maybe I can't get close enough to kill it, but the spider spray can.
